ATTENDANCE CHANGE IN HANDBOOK

Please note the change in the BPS Student

Handbook on Page 8.

Absences from school may be excused provided the

parent or legal guardian provides the school with a

written note or doctor’s excuse. If this note is not

received within (5) school days of the absence, the

absence will be considered unexcused. Please see

the full communication on attendance in the student handbook page 8.

CAR RIDER INFO

All new car rider numbers were issued this school year. If you have a number from last year, it will not be valid in the

car rider line. Also, parents/guardians are not to erase, alter or write numbers on old tags. Only the office can issue

car rider tags. You will not be able to get your child from car rider line without the proper tag. No exceptions. If you do

not have the proper tag, you will have to go to the office and show an ID. You must be on the child’s check-out list to

retrieve the student. Otherwise, students will NOT be dismissed from the front office. Reminder – all car riders should

be picked up no later than 4:15.

When a parent/guardian signs up for a car rider number for their student, they are issued 2 car tags. If the parent/

guardian wishes to purchase additional tags during the year, the cost is $5 each. Car tags can only be issued to

parent/guardians.

Morning drop off should be in the car rider line. We do not recommend, but if you choose to walk your child in the lobby

you must find a spot on the street to park and walk your child into the front door. The staff and office parking lots are

NOT available to park during arrival and dismissal. Drop offs are NOT permitted without walking a child in the front

door. All students must be in the door by 8:50 in order not to be counted tardy.

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES

Transportation changes must be made in writing and signed by the student’s parent/guardian. Transportation changes

will not be accepted over the phone, email or class DOJO and can only be made by the student’s parent/guardian. All

transportation changes must be made by 3:00.

If you sign up for afternoon dismissal with YMCA, Kelli’s Steps, The Next Level, Alan Belcher MMA, Applegate, ABC Day-

care or the Boys/Girls Club, you must also change the child’s transportation in writing with the school.

CHECKOUTS

Checkouts are not permitted after 3:20. If you have an appointment, please plan accordingly and checkout before 3:20.

Yearbooks may be ordered on

campus or online at

www.balfour.com. The cost is

$27.
