How can your Rotary moment tell the story of Rotary?• The story of Rotary is a collection of
experiences from individuals• These experiences or moments can be life
changing and inspirational, fun or exciting• Your Rotary moment is what makes Rotary
important to you and you don’t have to have just one
YOUR ROTARY MOMENT
• Who is my audience?– Consider what you know about them– Do they have any familiarity with
Rotary or your club–Which experience would best tell
Rotary’s story– Avoid internal Rotary jargon
DEVELOPING YOUR ROTARY MOMENT
• What is my goal?–What do you want to achieve with
your Rotary moment• Inspiring a group of Rotarians to action• Aiming to increase membership• Cultivating a new donor• Explain what Rotary means to you
–What do you want your audience to gain from your Rotary moment
DEVELOPING YOUR ROTARY MOMENT
• What changed?– A Rotary moment should describe a
transformation• Change you internally or how you live your
life• Change the world or life around you

• Avoid statistics, focus on stories that touch our emotions and grab attentions– Real life examples feel authentic and help
audiences connect• Demonstrate impact • Prepare different versions for different
audiences• Practice• Keep it simple
