There are currently 1,400 members of the Friends who support events and functions in the Friends’ fundraising calendar.

THE FRIENDSThe Friends were established in 1988, with Margot Anthony AM as their first President. The Friends are dedicated and enthusiastic supporters of the Gallery and its programs. They have played a crucial role, making significant financial contributions towards the building, its appointments and furnishings, acquisition of artworks for the collection and Gallery programs. In 2011, the Tweed Shire Council proudly accepted the generous bequest from the Margaret Olley Art Trust which included a cash donation to recreate her home studio. The Friends enthusiastically gave their fundraising support to this unique project.
