aOur most popular and highly recommended Beauty course is the Diploma of Beauty Therapy. It has been designed as a high level qualification for those wishing to operate as a beauty therapist, employing staff and managing a beauty salon. The course allows students to learn the latest beauty industry techniques and to further expand their skills to a Vocational Graduate Certificate in IPL and Laser Hair Reduction or university studies in paramedical aesthetics. This is the most highly regarded of all Beauty qualifications.

Qualification Out comesThe Diploma of Beauty Therapy is a nationally recognised qualification which is the highest national beauty qualification available. Successful graduates have many attractive career options; including: Owning, operating or managing a beauty salon; working at a day spa or health retreat; working internationally as a beauty therapist; working as a sales representative or area manager; and working in product development training. Students will learn the latest beauty industry techniques, all theory and practical aspects of beauty therapy, including specialised spa treatments and micro-dermabrasion. Graduates at Demi International have been given extensive real-world salon experience.

Course Duration and Study OptionsOption 1 - Course Duration: 12 MonthsDelivery: 4 x 10 week terms - 1 day (9 hours) a week face to face. Teacher directed study: Online 15-20 hours/week over 4 x 10 week term.Option 2 - Course Duration : 12 MonthsDelivery: 4 x 10 week terms - 2 days (18 hours) a week face to face. Teacher directed study: Online 10-15 hours/week over 4 x 10 week term.

Tuition Fees Option 1 - The course tuition costs are $12,800 of which up to $10,342 can be covered by VET Student Loans. The balance of $2,458 can be covered on payment plan of $50.26 per week inc direct debit fees. The tuition fees include all teacher directed learning, learning materials, resources, products, towels, access to industry experts and field trips. *If you apply for a Vet Student Loan you may need to undertake a LLN Assessment.

Option 2 - The course tuition costs are $16,400 of which up to $10,342 can be covered by VET Student Loans. The balance of $6,058 can be covered on payment plan of $119.50 per week inc. direct debit fees. The tuition fees include all teacher directed learning, learning materials, resources, products, towels, access to industry experts and field trips. *If you apply for a Vet Student Loan you may need to undertake a LLN Assessment.

Additional Fees not included in Tuition Fees All students will be required to pay a (non-refundable) equipment fee of $250 at enrolment to cover a uniform, access to an online Teacher Directed Learning Management System (LMS) and an online textbook.

RTO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students should have completed a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education for the completion of Year 12 or both: The student is to be assessed as competent at or above Exit Level 3 in an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Literacy and Numeracy Exam and also The student must display the required level of competence Demi International reasonably believes is required for a Diploma level of Study. Younger applicants are welcome to apply and entry will be at the discretion of the RTO.

This certificate course is designed to develop the first line management skills of those working in the beauty industry. It provides skills for coordinating or managing the services within both a small beauty salon and within a section or department within a larger store. It is a comprehensive course; however we encourage students to complete the Diploma of Beauty Therapy to obtain a full knowledge of Beauty Therapy, as the Certificate does not include, Micro-dermabrasion, Brazilian waxing or Day Spa subjects.

Qualification OutcomesCertificate IV in Beauty Therapy course is designed to develop the first line management skills of those working in the beauty industry. The beauty specialist at this level would provide a range of services, including lash and brow treatments, advanced facial treatments, manicure and pedicure services, and makeup design and application. Students at Demi International are given extensive real-world salon experience and the skills and knowledge to succeed as an exceptional Beauty Therapist in any business environment.

Course Duration and Study OptionsCourse Duration: 9 Months Delivery: 3 x 10 week terms - 1 day (9 hours) a week face to face.

Teacher directed study: Online 15-20 hours/ week over 4 x 10 week term.

Tuition Fees The course costs $13,500 and includes administration fees, enrolment costs, uniforms, stock, consumables, equipment, resource materials, all learning materials, workbooks and all beauty products for the entire year.

Additional Fees not included in Tuition FeesAll students will be required to pay a (non-refundable) equipment fee of $250 to cover uniforms and textbook/s at enrolment.

AssessmentThe assessment methods used in the Certificate IV and Diploma are competency based and include written and practical tasks. The assessment tasks are completed throughout your course of study.

Government Study Assist - VET Student LoansDemi International Beauty Academy is a registered training organisation and has been approved to offer VET Student loans to eligible students under the Higher Education Support Act 2003. The Diploma of Screen and Media is an approved course. VET Student Loans can be used to pay part of an eligible student’s tuition fees. Students who access Vet Student Loans are charged 20% loading from the Federal Government. The total debt to be incurred at completion of this Qualification will be $12,410.40. The debt will be repaid when your income is above the minimum repayment

Tuition assurance protects students in the event a course provided by an approved VSL provider ceases to be provided after it starts but before it is completed. Affected students are offered a replacement course with another provider and where this is not possible, the students’ FEE-HELP balance for the affected part of the course will be re-credited.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Advice

The National Reading Reporting System informs the identification and description of underpinning English language, literacy and numeracy features and requirements within competency standards. The learner’s language, literacy and numeracy levels are expected to be equivalent to 3/4 of the National Reporting System.

A sound level of English language skills (reading and writing skills) is required. Oral communication - a learner will be able to use and respond to spoken language within a variety of contexts.

Numeracy and mathematics - a learner will be able to recognise and use a variety of conventions and symbolism of formal mathematics.

Support ServicesDemi International will provide learners with every opportunity to complete their chosen qualification. Support from your trainer is available to ensure you understand the learning and assessment requirements once you have commenced study with Demi International Beauty Academy.
