• Three wards in top 10% of deprivation nationally

• Borchester St Paul’s ward high level of immigration from Eastern Europe

• Almost 10% of young people in Felpersham are NEET

• Issues of rural isolation in rest of county

• BorsetshireTogether, launched in 2009• A partnership of County and district councils,

police, NHS and fire service• Focus on tackling social exclusion in rural and

urban areas• Shared commitment to action• Evidence-based practice

OneBorsetshire

• 2010: BorchesterTogether published OneBorsetshire social inclusion strategy. Successes so far included:– Sign-up from all partners– Shared commitment to improving services– £400k Borsetshire Big Society Fund– Strategy for creative industries hub in Felpersham– “Digital Borsetshire 2020” vision
