December 21st, 2011 To whom it may concern; Re: Beatris Bogomilova
I recently had the pleasure of working with Beatris while she was on a work term period (August – December 2011) at Farrow Partnership Architects. She proved herself to be outstanding in her collaborative approach. In the time she was at FPA, she worked on several projects at varying scales and was able to shift to tasks as of varying complexity without any difficulty. The projects included an urban planning competition, a wellness centre, hotel competition, and for the last two months Beatris has been working on a large hospital project in the Middle East. The project, as is often the case, is on a very strict time schedule, requiring the whole team to work in a rigorous, and efficient manner. Beatris very quickly proved herself to be reliable and invaluable in her focused approach on every task. She is very hands‐on with her approach to everything she does while handling multiple tasks while ensuring each is executed promptly and efficiently. Beatris carved out a distinct role for herself and had the confidence and respect of her colleagues. What she lacks in practical experience, she more than made up through her enthusiasm and quick succinct responses. Her ability to engage the issues at hand, question and offer suggestions to a given problem often helped in making decisions towards achieving the required milestones. Beatris has a great future as an architect and will be an asset to any project of her choice. I whole heartedly recommend her.
Sincerely Yours
Yasin Visram

Mixed-useLargeUrban Building3A - ARCH 392 Design StudioA mixed-use project located at Jarvis St.t & Queen St. East, Toronto, facilitating a residential building, an elementary school, a public library, child care, retail and office units with underground parking. The facilities are integrated with one another based on comfort and ease of access. The idea is to have everything needed for day-to-day life close to home, and to create a smaller more intimate public space for residents to make closer connections with one another.
Ground level planA view from Queen St. E of the library and the school facing Moss Park.

Way’s Poolhouse3A - Co-op Gren Weis Architect & AssociatesAn outdoor poolhouse with a covered porch, storage and bathroom designed for a client by Gren Weis and drawn from proposal to construction by me in coordination with Terry Martino (architect), landscape architect and contractor. Situated beside the pool, this poolhouse allows for a modern feel with its copper roof, horizontal siding, drop down screens and gas fireplace. The hot tub spills into the pool allowing for the water to sing while comfortably dining outdoors and the barn door at the rear side allows for a ventilated mechanical room hidden from the pool.

Trojan Horse2B - Set Design for ARCH 243 Cultural History’s play performance of TroyA project to design an installation for the scene of Troy inside the Trojan Horse done by a team of 12 students. The 10 wooden ‘ribs’ are structurally sound and vary in height from 8’ to 12’ as a progressing enclosure from back to front of the seating space. There is a black hand-made striped curtain allowing for bodies to be seen behind but not faces, so having transparent and opaque strips in necessary places based on average person’s height to demonstrate the soldiers outside of the horse running in chaos. This curtain is raised up as the horse is ‘built’ by sliding the ribs closer into the audience then dropped when the soldiers escape from the horse, accompanied by silhouettes of running soldiers on stage. There is humming by the soldiers controlling the ribs throughout the whole scene, as well as stomping of spears.
