Anglin J-3 Kitten Anglin Special Aero Planes (Hendersonville, NC) is producing its J-3 Kitten ultralight single-seater in several kit. versions. The type was judged to be Best New Design at Sun 'n Fun. Standard powerplant is 35 h.p. direct-drive Global 7892 two-cylinder, four-stroke engine. Some 150 of the 500 engines ordered have been delivered by Global Machine Tool Corp.

Designer Anglin uses a strut-braced wing for the Kitten, with the wings employing a box-type wooden spar and geodetic ribs, two bays of drag and anti-drag wires, and chrome/moly steel brackets. The fuselage, tail section, and landing gear are welded 4130 chrome/moly steel, and the entire aircraft is covered with Stits Polyfibre (Dacron), heat shrunk, sealed, UV-treated, and painted. removeable side window and opposite side door for cold-weather flying. Folding wings allow a 15min setup time, and the machine can be transported on its own gear for short distances.

Fisher FP-202 Super Koala Mike Fisher unveiled his FP-202 Koala derivative at last year's EAA convention at Oshkosh. He brought two new aircraft to Sun 'n Fun—the second prototype Super Koala two-seater ARV/ultralight trainer and the FP-303 low-wing ultralight.
