Farm Insurance, City Hall, The News Xpress, The Union, McDonalds, and the Police Station. This group also took a field trip to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum.

On January 20, the BHS VEX Team hosted it’s first tournament. There were over 100 people in attendance. Twenty-two robots from nine schools competed. There were some very highly ranked teams that attended, and during one match a score that is currently the second highest in the world was earned by an alliance of two of those teams. The BHS team entered three robots. While the teams didn’t win overall, they had some successes worth mentioning. Our junior high team of Drew Clutter, Ben Wareham, Connor McCrary, and Wyatt Davis made it to the semi-finals in the competition.  Their robot was simple, but sturdy and they were paired with some good teams from other schools. One of our high school teams, Ian Apple, Ethan Gardner, Levi Williams, and Seth Hogue, scored the highest in program-ming skills, where they had to program their robot to score points while running autonomously.  They did not score as high on driver control as other teams so didn’t place in the overall skills testing.
