Our Vision

Beaconhouse values the right of every child to discover his or her potential

through the acquisition of knowledge, skills and values in a caring and

supportive environment. The Beaconhouse system upholds the freedom of

each child to think, create and discover, based on an informed

understanding of their cultural and spiritual traditions, whilst respecting

the cultures and spiritual insights of others. We believe the human mind

grows best in a spirit of freedom and co-operation. We promote equal

opportunities for all our children and young people irrespective of gender

and of religious, social or ethnic background.

We believe in developing responsible citizenship and social responsibility

by precept and example. We provide an environment for learning that

promotes independent, creative and critical thought. We provide a friendly

and supportive environment that not only enhances the self-esteem of

each child but also challenges each one to develop their understanding,

skills, abilities and talents to the full.

At Beaconhouse, we expect and demand high standards from all our

students and staff and we celebrate their diversity and achievements.

Beaconhouse Learner Profile

Introduction

The Beaconhouse learner profile has been developed to incorporate the Beaconhouse

mission of providing quality education of an international standard into a set of learning

outcomes relevant in the 21st century. The attributes of the learner profile express a set

of values and beliefs intrinsic for supporting all our students in their transitioning from

school to the world of work and civil responsibility. These attributes are consistent

through the Early Years, Primary, Middle and Secondary schools. The Beaconhouse

learner profile supports a professional learning community where students are

empowered, nurtured and inspired to learn and reach their potential. These attributes

encourage students to be more actively engaged beyond schooling into a complex

geo-political world, where compassion for and understanding of themselves and others

will contribute to a humane world.

Aim of the Beaconhouse learner profile

Our students come from a variety of social, cultural and economic backgrounds, not only

nationally but also internationally. Our students are our brand ambassadors. The learner

profile shares common attributes which forge ties with all students in Beaconhouse

schools both within Pakistan and internationally.

Beaconhouse promotes holistic learning of the student, emphasizing the educational,

emotional and physical needs through the domains of learning-the cognitive, affective

and psychomotor. By focusing on the dynamic combination of knowledge, skills, creative

and innovative thought and global awareness, the Beaconhouse learner profile prepares

our students as lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

As a key component of a Beaconhouse education, the learner profile is a central tenet of

our curriculum and the values embedded within it.

Implementation of the learner profile

The curriculum itself alone cannot implement the learner profile. The educators in

schools will model the values of the learner profile and share in the development of a

professional learning community that promotes accountability, responsibility and

empowerment of all its members. The Beaconhouse learner profile is an organic

document and will thrive only to the extent that it is lived out as a model of exemplary

humane, personal and professional conduct.
