THE FOLLOWING PERMITS ALLOW YOU TO PARK ON ALL TRUSTEE ROADS CURRENT YEAR ● Trustee Boat Ramp Permit ● Trustee 4WD Permit ● Trustee Special Parking Permit:

The beaches of Southampton are among the Towns most precious natural resources. The Trustees regulate use on Southampton’s beaches under the authority of the Dongan Patent and subsequent rules and regulations adopted by the Trustees. Vehicle traffic and access is an activity, which is regulated to provide compatible access for vehicles and people and to protect the Town’s coastal resources. In order to achieve this compatibility, it is unlawful for any person to drive or operate a motor vehicle on the bay beach areas, or the ocean beach areas, without a valid Southampton Trustees Resident ID’s. Furthermore, it is also unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle on these beaches between the Friday preceding Memorial Day and the 15th day of September, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Each vehicle that is driven on the beach must have onboard, a valid Southampton Trustees beach driving Resident ID’s affixed to the driver’s side front bumper, a jack and jack board, a tow chain or rope, an air pressure gauge and tire inflation device, and a shovel. Vehicles must use approved vehicle access ramps, and must not exceed 10 MPH.

Proper driving etiquette is essential for safety and natural resource protection. The beaches of Southampton Town generally consist of three distinct areas:

• Seaward of Mean High Water (MHW).• MHW to the seaward toe of the dune.• Dune area.

WANT TO SUPPORT ATLANTIC MARINE CONSERVATION SOCIETY ON THE BEACH? CONDUCT A BEACH CLEANUP OF YOUR OWN!Marine debris is a huge problem. Our biologists, interns, and volunteers conduct cleanups all over Long Island to not only remove trash from the beach, protecting marine animals from being sick, injured, or killed, but the data we collect also helps us to understand what the larger problems are and how we can mitigate them. During each beach cleanup we document the various items we pick up, weight, location, and more as part of our research efforts. You can do this too!

ORGANIZE A CLEANUP OF YOUR OWNPrint out one of our data collection sheets to take with you on the beach. Whether you organize a cleanup of your own or simply go for a walk, every bit picked up helps!amseas.org/enter-a-beach-cleanup

DID YOU SEE A WHALE, DOLPHIN, PORPOISE, OR SEA TURTLE? LET US KNOW!Atlantic Marine Conservation Society is the lead large whale response organization in New York State, responding to these animals, as well as deceased marine animals and entangled sea turtles. Reporting marine mammal and sea turtle sightings help us to learn more about local populations and how to help them in the future. Report a sighting online at amseas.org/report-a-sighting. The more information you can provide, the better!

SEND PHOTOS AND VIDEO TO: [email protected]

RFMRP responds to live stranded dolphins, porpoises, seals, and sea turtles.

SEND PHOTOS AND VIDEO TO: [email protected] IF YOU SEE A SICK OR INJURED MARINE ANIMAL, PLEASE CALL THE NYS STRANDING 24-HOUR HOTLINE IMMEDIATELY AT:631.369.9829
