Life Education Healthy Harold Healthy Harold is currently visiting our school. There will be a Parent information session held on Monday 27th November in the Healthy Harold bus at 9.30am. Research shows that well designed school-based health education programs play an important role in helping children develop the skills needed to make informed decisions. Our mobile classroom allows children to explore creative and collaborative learning in a space that is entirely different from a traditional classroom. There are no desks, pens or paper. Children are encouraged to participate and learn through engaging education experiences, which we believe bring out the best in all children.

PSSA Season 3 Season 3 of the Green Valley Primary Schools’ Sports Association (GVPSSA) is well underway. PSSA is on every Friday from 12pm to 3pm. Parents and carers are welcome and encouraged to come and watch their child play. All students, coaches and spectators must display good sportsmanship and support for all teams at all times.

Swim Scheme During weeks 5 and 6 Ashcroft PS students attended Michael Wendon Aquatic Leisure Centre every day to learn a range of swimming and water survival skills. Students enjoyed the sunshine and showed great improvement in their swimming throughout the program. It was definitely hard to get them out of the water at the end of their lesson.

What have Year 2 been up to? During sport, Year 2 have been doing Gymnastics. In order to build their strength and balancing skills, students have been practising different Gymnastics positions, including the tuck sit, v-sit, angry cat, front support and rear support. Students have also been practising balancing with partners.

Remembrance Day Every year, on the 11th November at 11am – the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we pause to remember those men and women who have died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peace operations. For those brave who gave their lives so we could live ours…

Sydney South West Girls Cricket Team Congratulations to Josephine Va’a and Annalaiese Armstrong for making it into the GVPSSA Girls Cricket team and then being selected to form part of the Sydney South West PSSA Girls Cricket team, a huge achievement showing the girls’ talent and sportsmanship. They have shown dedication and maturity at all training sessions and represented Ashcroft Public School, Green Valley PSSA and Sydney South West District with pride. We are all very proud of them! They recently travelled to the Hunter Valley with their team for a week of competition against other districts. They won two games on the first day, and lost one on the second, leaving them in contention for the finals. Unfortunately, they lost the deciding game for finals, but showed outstanding skill throughout. Congratulations to both students and the Sydney South West team.
