A huge thank you to all involved and particularly to the Aboriginal Education Team responsible for its organisation. We really appreciated the support of the many organisations, schools and community members who attended. Thank you for making it a memorable and valuable cultural day. If you have any feedback to help us improve future days, please contact Rachel Moore or Wendy Johnston at the school or fill in the evaluation sheet attached to this bulletin and send in to the Front Office. Attendance at school is vital for future success – this is not new. Neither is the legal requirement for parents/carers to explain absences within 7 days. Notifications can be made via a written note, phone call to the Front Office or by using the School Stream app. Please do not post this information on our Facebook site. The school also has a mandatory expectation to make contact with families regarding student absences. As such, staff will ring home after a few days to follow up. with English on Thursday 17th October and our students end with Community and Family Studies and Visual Arts on Friday 8th November. We encourage all senior students to make the most of all class and study time to gain further support with their learning, and plan homework time carefully to complete all requirements to the best of their abilities. Unfortunately, Chanel was unable to participate in the State Cross Country competition last week due to a significant injury. Thank you to everyone who supported Chanel in fundraising for this event. People who bought raffle tickets are still in the draw and the money raised will be held at the school to support any students who progress to State level sporting events. A reminder, that the school can provide financial assistance to help cover costs of camps and excursions. If this would be helpful for your students to participate, please don’t hesitate to contact the Front Office to arrange a time to speak to Mrs Taylor. Great news! Our P&C have been successful in winning a significant grant to purchase cattle scales for our Agriculture department. Thank you to President Joanne Janssen and Treasurer Bob Pyefinch for writing the application and to Stephen Gray for providing a supporting letter. These scales will be an invaluable addition for our Ag Team. As always, there’s a lot happening this term: curriculum excursions and incursions, camps, staff professional learning, sport competitions, Book Fair, Primary Assemblies, Year 12 study days, Performing Arts concert, 3-way conferences, just to list a few! Please keep informed and updated via our website, Facebook page and School Stream app, and be punctual in returning notes and money (if required) so that arrangements can be finalised. Lastly, we are in need of more volunteers to help with Breakfast Club. This runs 3 mornings a week at this stage but we would love to expand it to be every day. Volunteers need a current Working With Children Check, which is free, so if you are interested in helping out 8:15-9:30, please contact the school. Looking forward to a great term.

Robotics in the Library at lunchtimes!

A MASSIVE robotics kit has been hired for use in our school for THIS TERM

ONLY!!

Students in Years 2 to Year 12 are welcome to come up to the library at lunchtimes

(except for Thursdays) this term to have the opportunity to program “Ozobots”, to build

robot buggies out of Lego and to program our library computers with “Makey Makeys” to

act like pianos, guitars dice and much more!

So come and find out what YOU can create with robotics!
