San Sebastian (Donostia) Imagine: you’re in San Sebastian, you can get the sky.

Information:• San Sebastian is the capital city of the province of

Guipuzkoa. is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain.• There are lots of festivals in the city, like: • San Sebastian International Film Festival (September)• San Sebastian’s Jazz Festival (last week of July) it’s the

longest Jazz Festival in Europe.• San Sebastian has three restaurants with three Michelin

stars.• Pintxos are very popular, they can be found at the bars of

the Old Part of the city. (mmmh)

Donostia • The city has three urban beaches: La Concha, Ondarreta and

Zurriola.• The first and second beaches are in La Bahía de la Concha and the

third is on the other side of Urumea River.• La Concha is one of the best-known cities of Spain.• Ondarreta is between Miramar Palace and Igueldo Mountain. It’s

the littlest beach.• Zurriola is the most visited by surfers because it’s big waves.

Zarautz (Zarauz) Now, move your mind to Zarautz. Take a surf board and leave you

go on the waves.

• It’s a coastal village in the province of Guipuzkoa. • The Palace of Narros is where Queen Isabella II and Fabiola of

Belgium spent their summer holidays.• Zarautz is the home of one of the most famous cookers in Spain,

Karlos Arguiñano. • Its gastronomy is very traditional.• Surfing is the most famous sport in Zarautz beach.• In September there’s the World Championship of surf: Rip Curl Pro

Getaria (Guetaria) Go to the beach of Getaria, feel the water on your feet, take a

good book, lie down on the sand and let’s to dream.

• It’s a coastal town of the province of Guipuzkoa.• In its restaurants they prepare grilled fish with white wine

(chcaolí).• San Salvador de Guetaria Church is a gothic church which is

declared a National Monument.• Hermitage of San Prudencio has a gothic door decorated with

geometric motifs. • St. Pedro is the patron of the sailors. • Monument to Juan Sebastian Elcano: to mark the fourth centenary

of the Elcano’s return after his trip around the world.

Zumaia (Zumaya)

• Zumaia is a small town near the Cantabrian Sea. • The town has two beaches: Itzurun and Santiago, which geologists

are interested because they are situated among the longest set of continuous rock strata in the world.

• Zumaia is located at the point where the Urola and Narrondo rivers come together.

Bilbao (Bilbo) Find some flat stones, go to shore of The Ría de Bilbao and make

• It’s the capital city of the province of Vizcaya. • Chavarri Palace is the seat of Government Sub since 1943.• The Arriaga Theatre is a neo-baroque building from the late

nineteenth century by the architect Joaquin Rucoba.• Vizcaya Bridge (hanging bridge) it’s a transporter bridge, it links

the town of Portugalete and Las Arenas.• Santiago is the patron of Bilbao, the cathedral has his name.• Bilbao’s cuisine is based on products from the sea like cod and

eels.
