CCDC, a WHO collaborating centre for capacity building and research and a department of biotechnology designated center of excellence for clinical research is an independent and not-for-profit biomedical research organization based in New Delhi, India. It is an academic health science research organization driven by a passion to promote and protect cardiovascular health in India and the world at large.

CCDC undertakes clinical research in various domains of NCD. Within the spectrum of chronic diseases, its main focus areas are: cardiovascular disease, diabetes and metabolic diseases. Within these domains CCDC engages both in population based and hospital based research involving several scientific designs. It also specializes in data management, training, policy advocacy and scientific secretarial assistance to international agencies. Capacity building through both contact and non-contact training is one of the core strengths of CCDC. Through such training programs it has built substantial capacity in India and several other developing countries.

Certificate Course in Evidence Based Management of Diabetic Retinopathy (CCDR) is a joint certificate program designed, delivered and implemented by Center for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) and Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with academic partners Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Education Academy (DMDEA), Chennai and Arvind Eye Care System, Madurai and supported by an educational grant from The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust (QEDJT) with funding from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.

CCDR is four modular course with the following objectives:

thThe Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) was launched by 14 thHonorable Prime Minister of India on 28 March, 2006 at New

Delhi. It is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and International academia, state and central governments, multi & bilateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health. Structured as an independent foundation. PHFI has so far trained more than 20000 Primary Care Physicians under various capacity building initiatives in chronic conditions since 2010.
