DESCRIPTION
Short of becoming a dysfunctional glutton of information, most of us try to get things done and be informed to perform in our work. Information overload is only a matter of consumption means and perspective. The fact is, every living organism is well suited to perform admirably in information overload. So, why are humans so worried about being overwhelmed when it comes to data? We, too, manage to sort through the information coming our way – information that is natural, that is. Our brain is equipped to scan our environment as it ignores known patterns and focuses on anomalies that help us learn and seek primal opportunities. In this session, we will explore a new way to consume information that leverages natural human cognitive abilities in order to achieve awareness about what is going on from Big Data.TRANSCRIPT

Forgetting that we are Human
We are condiBoned to count and measure
We do not design our systems to see paEerns
We forget that we are mulBdimensional
We forget that we are much beEer at scanning than reading
We forget that we are very well suited to consume chaos… AS A MATTER OF FACT THIS IS HOW WE LEARN

Inferring Meaning From Big Data
Big Data makes it hard to tradiBonal database management tools to reveal meaningful results
Not all data is created equal, nor is it equal at the same Bme
Big Data is a familiar experience for human cogniBve capability as long as dynamic paEerns can be presented
Inferring meaning should be leO to the human and not the system in order to shape the future of Big Data compuBng
