Diabetes management program saves money Members of Baptist Health’s medical plan who have diabetes can take charge of their health and save an average of $1,000 per year by participating in this program that provides personal support for managing diabetes and lowers co-pays for selected diabetes medications and supplies. Any child with diabetes on your policy automatically qualifies for this program. To be eligible for lower co-pays, adults with diabetes on your policy must complete three steps: 1. Visit a primary care physician or endocrinologist to complete a diabetic checkup. 2. Complete an A1C test at a Baptist Health or Quest Diagnostics ® lab. 3. Participate in a health-coaching session by calling Baptist’s Healthy For Life team at 904.202.1819. Once you complete these steps, Florida Blue automatically will begin applying your reduced co-pays on the first day of the next calendar-year quarter. Approved medications and supplies are $5 for a one-month supply when you use a Florida Blue-participating pharmacy. You must complete the three steps each year to re-enroll. Baptist South Angel Tree programFor the seventh year

in a row, Baptist South

was home to a Salvation

Army Angel Tree. It

stood prominently in

our main lobby and was

open to team members,

visitors and community

members who wished

to participate. This

year, we were able to

provide gifts to 50 angels ranging from toddlers to

teenagers. Baptist South extends thanks to everyone

who participated to make this a very special holiday for

those in need.

Wolfson Children’s HospitalLace up your running shoes – it’s Wolfson Children’s Challenge timeOn Jan. 31, Wolfson 55 kids, their families, local

companies and sponsors, along with team members

from Baptist Health and Wolfson Children’s Hospital,

will participate in the sixth annual Wolfson Children’s

Challenge at EverBank Field. Presented by RPM

Automotive, the race events and sponsorships will raise

money for the purchase of a Nuclear Medicine SPECT/

CT camera and a technology support endowment.

A few things have changed this year in addition to the

location. The distance of the Ultra Marathon and Relay

will be 55K (34.1 miles), and an individual 30K (18.6

mile) run has been added. Runners and teams also will

have the opportunity for the first time to register for a

start time by using their predicted pace so they can be

released in waves to enable more efficient pacing.

Team members are encouraged to form relay teams.

You can build a team of up to 11 friends, co-workers or

family members, and even create a team name and run

in honor of someone. Starting Jan. 1, you may use the

following promotion codes to save on registration fees:
