A significant meeting and rest point is created with raked concrete wall, long timber benches, and interpretive markers to match the Clyde St character. Planting and wall positioning do not impede traffic sight lines and deter 'jaywalking'. Realigned line marking on northern corner to reduce width of Clyde St and provide clear sight lines to pedestrian crossing for vehicles turning right from North St into Orient St. 5 NORTHERN PEDESTRIAN CROSSING New ‘at grade’ unmarked pedestrian crossing across Orient St linking North St with Bus Stop & 'Hub’ area. 6 ALFRESCO & SEATING STRIP New alfresco and public seating strip with landscaping, shade trees and furniture to replace existing parallel parking. Includes saw cut concrete pavement, accent strip pavers, furniture, interpretive markers, and landscaping. Loading zone relocated to bus stop, and 5min parking relocated to front of Post Office. 7 MULTIPURPOSE 'POP UP' STRUCTURE Simple multifunctional structure at end of plaza for Council and community use. Accommodates uses such as tourist information, temporary kiosk, community group activities, entertainment stage. Bike parking also provided to the north. 8 CENTRAL PEDESTRIAN CROSSING Central raised pedestrian crossing aligned to east-west pedestrian thoroughfare through plaza. 9 SOUTHERN PEDESTRIAN CROSSING Southern ‘at grade’ unmarked pedestrian crossing with associated street furniture & landscaping to replace existing marked crossing. Also includes adjoining seating, interpretive totems, and bins. 10 COURTHOUSE & POLICE ENTRY New feature pavement, furniture, interpretive totems, & landscaping signifying entry to precinct. 11 BEACH ROAD INTERSECTION New granite pavement at intersection corner.
