NeedsUpdating practicing physicians and other health professionals in both the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases/conditions is essential to providing quality care leading to improved patient outcomes. The goal of this activity is to review current as well as emerging medical therapies and to outline the most e�ective ways to integrate this information into clinical practice.

Target AudienceGastroenterologists, hepatologists, internists, primary care physicians, nurses, physician assistants, medical trainees and students.

ObjectivesAt the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:• Apply evidence based approach to managing

Gastroparesis• Identify complications of bariatric surgery amenable

to endoscopic intervention

• Identify endoscopic treatments for achalasia• Apply evidence based approach to incidental liver

lesions

Educational Methods and EvaluationLecture • Small Group Breakout Session • Question and Answer Session • Panel DiscussionEvaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.

Baylor College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Baylor College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The presentation, Ethics Lecture, has been designated by Baylor College of Medicine for 1.0 credit of education in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility.

ABIM MOC PointsSuccessful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 11.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

Physician AssistantThis program is not yet approved for PA CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 11.75 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit from the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Total number of approved credits yet to be determined.

NurseTexas Children’s Hospital is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.This continuing education activity awards 11.75 contact hours.

Disclosure PolicyIn order to meet the requirements of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), it is the policy of Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) that all individuals who are in a position to control the content of the CME activity (activity director, planning committee members, and faculty) disclose relevant �nancial relationships with commercial interests. All identi�ed con�icts of interest are managed to help ensure that the educational material is scienti�cally based, accurate, current and objectively presented. Speci�c disclosure will be made to the participants prior to the educational activity.

Fee, Registration and Confirmation InformationRefer to the registration form for the fee schedule. Your registration will not be processed until payment is received. Your registration will be con�rmed. If you have not received con�rmation at least �ve business days before the activity start date, contact the O�ce of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) immediately.

If you plan to register on-site, contact OCME at least 24 hours in advance to con�rm activity status and space availability. The OCME reserves the right to limit the number of participants in an activity and will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not con�rmed and for whom space is not available.

Cancellation/Refund PolicyRequests for registration refunds must be in writing and received by the OCME at least 10 business days before the activity begins. The date the request is received by the OCME will be considered the cancellation date. Requests received after the refund deadline will not be processed. Cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee deducted from the registration fee paid to cover guarantees and other expenses. Requests should be mailed to the OCME or faxed to 713.798.7955.

The OCME reserves the right to cancel activities, not less than 10 business days before the scheduled date, if extenuating circumstances make it necessary. Registrants will be noti�ed at the contact number indicated on the registration form followed by written noti�cation. If an activity is cancelled, OCME’s liability is limited to the registration fee paid. Note: If payment is made by check, a social security number is required to process the refund.
