What is Battle of the Books?

The Battle of the Books Club is a competition of the mind.

How many details about a book can you remember?


Do I have all of the parent permission letters?

If not, needed by next meeting!


We meet at 7:45 on Thursdays.

calendar!


• Read as many of the selected 14 books as you can.

• All 14 books need to be covered by your team.

• The books have a wide range of reading levels & interests.

• Minimum of 3 novels!


• Form into teams of 4-6 people. A team of 5 is a good size. A team of six is the best.

• Pick a team name & team captain.


• Elimination competitions will be in March/April here @HMS.

• The winners will face off for top dog at HMS. The winners receive gift certificates for use @Barnes & Noble.


The winning 7th grade & 8th grade teams attend the Central Jersey 7th & 8th grade competition at Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School in May where we face-off against 10 other schools.
