    Name of the work:-Construction of High level Bridge on Mahendratanaya River on the Road from Baruva to Battigalluru

    Est.Cost:-Rs.437.00 lakhs

    I.SCOPE:

    The Road from Baruva to Battigalluruis an important road connecting most of the fisherman population of Sompeta Mandal to

    the Mandal head quarters by shortest route.The total length of the Road is 3.00 Km.In this connection,it is to be informed that one high level

    bridge is to be constructed on Mahendratanaya River to provide access to the public to Mandal head quarters.Further,the above bridge

    is not only useful to the public of Sompeta Mandal,but also useful to the people of Palasa and Mandasa mandals also in view of connectivity

    to NH-5 also.

    There is heavy pneumatic traffic such as trucks,tractors and iron wheel vehicles,Lorries on the road .Hence,it is necessary to

    provide 7.5m widthbridge on Mahendratanaya River to ensure connectivity as explained above.

    II.EXISTING FEATURES:

    There is existing road in between BARUVA and BATTIGALLURU with a missing high level bridge on Mahendratanaya River.

    Hence,one high level bridge is required.

    III.PROVISIONS IN THE ESTIMATE

    1.Quarry rubbish filling for embankment for a length of 200m on either side of the proposed bridge,as the side soil is not

    suitable for formation of embankment.

    2.Construction of high level T-beam bridge of 12 spans,each span being 13.10m with well foundations

    3.Formation of Approaches&Road for a length of 200m on either side of the Bridge

    IV.DESIGN CRITERIA

    1.The bridge is designed as per the specifications of the IRC

    2.The designs of bridge are enclosed seperately.

    V.ESTIMATED AMOUNT

    The estimate for construction of high level bridge along with approaches is prepared for an

    amount of Rs.437.00 lakhs
