Bathrooms are place where you don’t want clutter, its a place where you go to clean, groom and well do some
private affairs. Its a place you want to keep in pristine and spotless.
The best bathrooms sometimes aren’t the ‘blingy-est’ or the most refined, they are the ones that have mixture
of both clean and comforting design cues. Two things to keep in mind;
1. You must be able to clean it! Ive seen bathrooms that look awesome due to the textured Bali inspired
floor tiles with wooden accents everywhere. The thing is, cleaning it requires an expert hand, and can
collect dust, mildew and dirt faster than a public restroom. Make sure to choose hard, stone surfaces that
can be wiped down and easy to maintain.
2. Keep it all out of site! Nothing worse than having a bathrooms full of decoration. If i see a friend of mine
decorating their toilet seat with a doily or some hideous contraption, i would have to question whether
we should still be friends! Keep you parfumes, sprays, soaps and medicinal bottles away. A candle or
two should be fine and of course a toothbrush. Everything else… Hide!
3. Space saving design is key, hide the toilet tank, flush out the medicine cabinet into the faux wall, and
perhaps rethink the bathtub if you are space poor.
