• Can be used to suppress noise

Arithmetic Mean Filter

• Arithmetic mean filter replaces the current pixel with a uniform weighted average of the neighbourhood

• Like arithmetic mean filter, but loses less detail

• Replaces value of a pixel by the median of its neighbourhood
