PRINCIPLE APPLICATION
1. An assessment must be based on an integrateddevelopment model
* In assessing a child the teacher must see the different
aspects first in order to understand the whole being.
* In Preschool students the way the teacher assess thestudents is through means of rubrics in which they evaluate
the students work not in terms of quantitative but through
the qualitative means and so teachers must see the wholebeing of the child first.
2. Assessment involves multiple sources of informationand multiple components
*It is better if the teacher will provide not only few sources of
information but many so that the students will be challenge to
compress the idea and come out to one perspective. They willlearn from many sources that can be added up to their
knowledge*In terms of giving away textbooks as sources it is better if the
teacher could give different point of view or different ways onhow a certain topic could be discussed in order for the
students to understand the whole topic.
3. An assessment should follow a certain sequence *One good example that is really happening in the classroomsetting is through means of the friendship that exists inside
the room, it is better if the teacher will also give the studentssimple reminders that can create a healthy relationshipamong the members. It is a step by step procedure that the
students could get.
4. The childs relationship and interaction with his orher most trusted caregiver should form the
cornerstone of an assessment
*In case there is a disciplinary action that must be given to astudent, the teacher should interview the parent/s or any
close family member so that they could fully understand andthe action that will be given is suitable for his/her
personality.5. An understanding of sequences and timetables in
typical development is essential as a framework for
the interpretation of developmental differencesamong the young children
*We as the teachers should have a knowledge on how growth
and development could take place to a child and how the
influences can stimulate the student. Before giving advices tothe students it is important if the teacher is well educated in
the certain point.6. Assessment should emphasize attention to the childs
level and pattern of organizing experience and to
functional capacities, which represent an integration
of emotional and cognitive abilities.
*Teachers must provide tools that can measure and developthe whole growth of a student. Tools such that can help them
expand their skills and abilities.
*In some ways, group activities could offer the studentschallenging roles and effective maturity on some points.
7. The assessment process should identify the childscurrent competencies and strengths, as well as the
competencies that constitute developmentalprogression in a continuous-growth model of
development
* Teachers must assess the students in the positive way, focusing on the strength and forte of the students.
* Praising the students work or giving them special action canhelp the student to develop self esteem.
8. Assessment is a collaborative process *Teachers also help in the development of every studentenrolled in the school. It is a concerted course where in the
people around the student could make the difference in theindividual.
9. The process of assessment should be viewed as thefirst step in potential intervention process.
* It is better if the teacher will assess first the student so thatthey can get immediate what changes should be made in
order to have a gradual improvement.
10. Reassessment of a childs developmental statusshould occur in the context of day-to-day family orearly childhood activities, or both
*Checking the development of the student often can help thenhave a good development.
