Rehabilitation Update 2017

OBJECTIVES: The primary goals for the annual conference are to increase attendee’s awareness of new trends in rehabilitation health care and to support the continued growth of rehabilitation nursing and individual nurses. After attending the conference, the participant will be able to:

1. Describe technique for (REBOA) Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta as an interventional technique in uncontrolled truncal and extremity bleeding.

2. Identify pressure mapping related to pressure ulcers with prevention emphasis.

3. Describe what is a diaphragm pacemaker and how is it used in ventilator dependency. Identify treatment options for the chronic mechanical ventilator patient.

4. Identify the sequalae of brachial plexus injury with the challenges and options for treatment.

5. Identify current knowledge regarding treatment options for extra-articular hip pathology. Learn additional tools regarding hip pain education.

6. Identify how Pilates and Yoga can help people with neurological conditions.

*6 Contact hours for CCM, CDMS and CRC have been applied for from the CCMC, CDMSC and CRCC. *6.25 Contact hours (RN-50-777) are available from the Florida State Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. *1 (One) optional contact hour will be available
