1 Introduction

1.1 About this document

This document provides the release notes of the different versions of the Overture software and it should beused by anyone wishing to install or upgrade to a new version of Overture software. These release notes areprovided together with the SW via the secured Barco website.

1.2 About Overture

Overture is Barco’s software-based A/V Control solution that uses the normal network infrastructure to monitorand control all A/V devices.

1.3 How to update

The easiest way to update Overture is by using the docker-compose file. This can be done by using thefollowing steps:

1. Take a snapshot of your VM and an Overture Backup.2. Make sure your UX server has access to the internet by checking that you can access the online

drivers library from the Overture Configurator (Views → Plug-Ins View → New → Browse Online Library)3. Upload the docker-compose file through the Overture Configurator (Views → UX Server Config →

Update Server → Select the docker.compose.yml file)

2.1.1 Important upgrade notice in case of adapted Control Panels

Due to a change with respect to context-setting there is possibly a manual change required to your controlpanels. This is only required when you have custom control panels where where a med-include tag is locatedinside of a med-tab-content tag. In that case, you have to update the value of the med-point, inside the med-include tag from "point" to "point.parent". So the code

In all other cases, e.g. when there are no custom Control panels, no manual changes are required.

2.2.1 Important upgrade notice

As there were fundamental changes made to the virtual appliance, in order to enable proxy functionality, it isimportant to follow the migration procedure. This means, you will install a complete new VM for this newrelease, and then migrate from the old VM to the new VM, making the old VM obsolete.

The procedure to do this is described in the user manual, section 4.1.9.

In the virtual appliance, IPs of all network interfaces are shown on home screen, allowing you toconnect to the Overture system via the different network interfaces.

The ability to force the license re-check from configurator has been added.Dashboard and Magic Menu CSS files contain integrated documentation.

2.5.3 Bugs solved

Cannot create a point while making a search.A device using another device as parent count for 1 container in the licensing model.Labels don’t appear on the map, if they are not direct children of the map.UX server can be in an undefined state if the Virtual Machine has been hard stopped.Retrieving logs with the API is limiting to 1000 logs, now it is 10 000.

The topology between clients and UX Server has been revisited and simplified. The connections fromthe clients now always pass through the UX Server reducing the number of connection and the bandwith.

A control server status can be accessed by its linked point in the database. Since version 2.0.0, creating acontrol server in the "Control Server View" (Configurator) will create a linked point in the "Point View". In case ofan update from a previous version you may have to create an attached point to the control server manually.

To create a point which represent a control server, you need to create a point with these parameters:

Variable Name: The name of the control server in the control server view.Type: Enum
