WELCOME ADDRESS
Dear friends,
BKM – Barcelona Knee Meeting and ECG – Barcelona Knee Seminar have joined forces to be-
come the BKAM – Barcelona Knee Associated Meeting – course, to be held at the NH Constanza
Hotel in Barcelona on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of February 2017.
BKAM strives for the most innovative knowledge updates, moving well away from long presen-
tations and repetitive round panel lectures. The scientific programme will be based on short
speeches and interactive discussion sessions, with new technologies present throughout the
sessions, live broadcast surgery, and an 8:00 to 17:00 schedule for a sustainable day.
All in all an agile, flexible course blueprint set on the solid pillars of education. The motto for
2017: ”What to do when things go wrong” will deal with failures in patellar instability surgery;
meniscal surgery; ACL surgery, osteotomies, prosthesis surgery … a full overview of all possible
causes of surgery failure and the protocols applicable in each instance.
Thus, BKAM is two courses merging into one occurring every two years – the end result of the
coming together of two different schools of thought and most of all the deep connection of a
group of friends deciding to go along together.
This is the best way forward in times in which health professionals must choose and select the
best offer among a sometimes too large range, while the health industry manages its contribu-
tion on the basis of efficiency and return on investment criteria.
