passports and the proposed itinerary.
Pupil Free Day
A reminder that this Friday will be a pupil free day at
Baradine Central School to allow staff to do their Term 3
staff development/training day. I apologise for any
inconvenience this will create for parents, but on this
occasion, it is very necessary.
There will not be any organised supervision of students.
Parents of students who turn up to school, will be contacted
to collect them.
NAIDOC
Last Friday was our joint NAIDOC celebration with the local
community and schools. Thank you to the Baradine Local
Aboriginal Lands Council for organising the day on Country.
The students learnt about Gamilaroi culture including the
meaning of the smoking ceremony along with the
significance of Country to the people. The visiting dance
group was both entertaining and informative.

Attention Parents
We have numerous clothing items that have been left at school – jumpers, hats, track
pants etc.
If your child is missing school attire please check the lost property box located in the
primary wet area, on the verandah outside the staffroom or the school office.
All unclaimed clothing will go into the school clothing pool by week 3.
Small Schools Rugby League Knockout
On Thursday 25th July our under 13s boys combined with Gulargambone
Central to take on Guyra Central School in the semi-finals of the Small
Schools Knockout. Our boys put in a fantastic effort and played with a lot
of heart but unfortunately came up against a very solid opposition and
couldn’t get the win. We are very proud of the performance they put in
and congratulate them on what they have achieved.
Big effort at State Cross Country!
On Friday 26th July Clinton Lennon competed for North West at the State Cross
Country Championships in Sydney.
Clinton competed in the 8km event, completing the course in an impressive 39
minutes. This placed him in the top 80 in the entire state for 17+ years boys.
A huge effort from him, one that we are very proud of!
UNICEF Australia -NSW Youth Summit on Living with Drought
Are you a young person (14-24 years) impacted by the NSW drought? UNICEF Australia invites you to apply for the first NSW Youth Summit on Living with Drought!
UNICEF Australia, with support from the NSW Government, is hosting the first Youth Summit for young people living with drought in NSW. The Summit will be a forum for meaningful, action-oriented discussion between young people, policy-makers and service providers about how to more effectively support young people and children experiencing drought. It is also a chance to have a break from the land, build new connections with others going through similar struggles, and to connect, engage and reflect, surrounded by beautiful Lake Macquarie.
If you’re aged 14-24 years and are impacted by drought, participating in the NSW Youth Drought Summit is a unique and exciting opportunity to speak up for drought-affected children and young people.
Applications close on Friday, 30 August at 11:59pm AEST.
