Vestagen is donating 2,000 discontinued items to Haiti mission trips led by John Lovejoy, MD, who retired in 2008 as an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Lovejoy was on the medical staff at Baptist Jacksonville and has been traveling to Haiti for more than 30 years. His trips often include Baptist Health physicians from a variety of specialties. “To have the high-tech Vestex uniforms will be wonderful,” Dr. Lovejoy said. “Infection is something we have to worry about in a tropical climate.” The Vestex scrubs will arrive at a hospital in Haiti in about a month. “Our mission in providing the donation is to protect the health care workers who are doing God’s work caring for people in need,” said Ben Favret III, Vestagen president and CEO. New ICU Nursing Boot CampBaptist Health is offering our nurses with telemetry

and progressive nursing experience an opportunity

to become Intensive Care Unit RNs through a

nine-week specialized, intensive training and

development program designed specifically for Baptist.

To be considered for the program, a registered nurse

must have:n Two years of telemetry and/or progressive

nursing experiencen One year of experience at Baptist Healthn Director’s recommendation

Monday, Sept. 22 – Friday, Nov. 21 Boot Camp. The

United Way Days of Caring

Volunteer for just 15 – 30 minutes during one of the

upcoming United Way Days of Caring to make a

positive difference in our community. Days of Caring

support United Way agencies and include easy and fun

activities, such as helping to make winter scarves for

Clara White Mission or putting together book bundles

for the ReadingPals organization. There is no need to

sign up. Just show up!

Baptist ClayVolunteers needed for Senior ExpoBaptist Clay will participate in the upcoming Clay

County Senior Expo on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from

9 am – 2 pm at the Thrasher Horne Conference Center.

Two volunteers are needed, one clinical and one

non-clinical, to work at the Baptist Clay table. Duties

include passing out information about Baptist Clay

and various health topics, as well as conducting blood

pressure screenings.

The event is from noon to 4 pm at the St. Johns Town

Center in front of Maggiano’s. If you can’t make it to

this event, we’ll also be hosting an internal Marrow

Registry Drive on Friday, Sept. 12, from 10 am - 2 pm

in the Rotunda at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville/
