Whatisthis ThisentryinourCommunityGrimoireisacollectionofritualsuggestionstoaideinyourmagicalactivism.Thisisaworkinprogressthatweintendtoeditandmorphovertime.Wewillfocusonspellsandmethodsthatcaneasilybeadaptedintoeitherdefensiveoroffensivemagic.Ourintentistoempoweryoutoharnesstheenergyofsocialmovements&demonstrationsthatyouarepartof.Ouremphatictakeonthisissimple.Don’tdrawupontheenergyoftheworkofothersifyouaren’tcontributingtoit’ssuccessandmomentum;especiallyifyouholdprivilegeandpoweroverthoseforwhomthemovementisfor.Thesesuggestionscanalsobeusedtoharnessenergyofpoliticalevents/elections.Wewillalsoprovidesuggestionstoeffectivelychannelthatenergyintoabanishmentoffascismandotherexpressionsofkyriarchy.Thisisalivingresource,wearenottheexpertsonyouraltarorhowtowieldyourmagic.Nordowebelieveanyonewitchisanexpertinthepracticeofmagicoutsideoftheirownexperience.*

Afewnotesinregardstooffensivemagic.Rememberthatmagiccastindesperationoftenyieldsdesperateresults.Thisisn’ttosaythatmagicasafirstorevenlastresortduringtimesofchaosandcrisisisn’teffective,norarewesuggestingthatyoushouldrefrainfromcastingwhileemotionallycharged.Whatwearesayingistodoyourbesttoremainfocusedanddeliberatewithyourcasting;especiallywhengoingontheoffense.Channelyourrageandharnessyouremotions;youcanbraidthemintoapowercordoreventietheirenergyintoknotstountieanduseatalaterdate.Also,wehavefoundthatthemostsuccessfulspellsofdefenseandoffensearethosethattarget,drawupon,andexpeditetheconsequencesofcircumstancesalreadyatplay.Specifically,targettheweaknessesandvulnerabilitiesinherentinthecircumstancesoftheintendedtargetofyourworkings(existinghealthconcerns,lifecircumstances,failingsofcharacter,courtcases,etc.)

WhyisThis Weareintentionallypublishingthise-zineontheeveningofthe2020presidentialelectionwhiletheenergyandthefocusofthebeastofFascismisdistracted.OnthewaveoftheSamhainFullMoonandintheechoingthresholdoftheWitchesNewYearweempowerthisspellandshareitwithyou.Whynowandwhythis?Wehavereceivedcountlessmessagesaboutwhatcanbedoneatthistimefromamagicalstandpoint.OurresponsehasalwaysbeentoturnyourresourcesandaltarsinsupportofwhatisandhasalreadybeenhappeninginthelargermovementsofBlackLiberation,IndigenousSovereignty,andEcologicalAccountability.Thereiscountlessworkbeingdonetodismantlefascismandkyriarchyandinsupportofradicallyprogressiveglobalculturalshifts.Ourstancehasandwillalwaysbe#altarsupwitches… Inregardstovoting,itisyourchoicetovote.It’sachoicemanypeopledon’thaveduetosystemic,racist,votersuppression.Webelievetoomanypeoplerelytooheavilyonthisinherentlyflawedandracisttooltoeffectsystemicchanges.Stillweacknowledgethatforsomeitistheonlythingtheyarereasonableabletodoinsupportofculturalshifts.However,bewisewitches.BemorecunningthentheillusionsofDemocracyandthedistractivetoolsofFascism.Westronglybelieve,asReganDeLoggans(IG:@phaggot.planet)writes,thatvotingonstolenandcolonizedlandsonlyperpetuatesfascismbyenablingsocialgroomingandsystemsrootedinsettler/colonial/assimilativewhitesupremacy.Ifyouarecalledtovote,vote.Howevermakenomistake,itisnotanactthatwillelicitthechangesneeded.ItisanotherweaponusedtodominateandcompromisethesovereigntyofIndigenous&Blackpeopleandcommunitiesmademostvulnerableunderkyriarchy. Ifyouvote,weaskyoutoobjectivelyrealizethatvotingisliterallytheleasteffectivetoolatourdisposalinsupportoftheculturalshiftsthatareneeded.Don’tbeglamour’dbythehypesurroundingpoliticalelections,keepgoingandkeepthosealtarsstrong.AbolitionofKyriarchyistheprimaryandmosteffectivegoalofanyworkingsofradicalwitchery;regardlessofwhatformyourworktakes.

Thefollowingarereflectionsonoffensivemagic.HereyouwillfindourrecommendationsandbestpracticeconsiderationsforBanishments,Bindings,&PowerStripping(StaffBreaking)Spells.Again,youwillwanttoreflectontheseofferingsandbuildyourownrituals.Eachofthesespellscanbeworkedwiththroughtheuseofpoppets,effigies,braids,knots,jars…thepossibilitiesareendless.Dependingonwhatmodalityyouchoose,youwillneedtogathertheappropriateingredients.

• Breakingthestaffofalineageoffalsepower.Whenbreakingthestaffofanelectedofficial,wearedrawingenergyfromeveryelectionandeveryadministrationthathasoccupiedpowerwithinthatposition.Thismeanswearetappingintothehistoriesofgenocide,slavery,andbrutalitythatgaverisetoandsustainkyriarchalimperialismtheseofficesrepresent.Strippingthepoweroftheseofficesthroughstaffbreakingwillalsoshatterthepillarsofthosesystemswithinusandourcommunities.Beawareofyourrelationshiptotheseseatsoffalsepowerandyourproximitytotheoppressiveprivilegestheybestow.Thewayswecontributetoharm(knowinglyorunknowingly)byperpetuateoppressionthroughtheseprivilegeswillrevealthemselvesandrequireouraccountability.Actwithintegrityandresponsibilityinthisshatteringleastyourcharacteralsobecomebrittleandcrumble.

• Werecommendcharginganactualwoodstaff.Stavesaresymbolsofauthorityandpower,breakingthemisaformofsymbolicmagicthattranslatestothestrippingofpowerfromthestaffandtheonewhoholdsit;andpotentiallythepositionaswell.

• Buildingabanishmentoil/incense.Youcanfirstblendandblessanincenseandaddthistocureinanoilifyouwant.Oilstakeawhiletocuresoyouwillwanttomaketheminadvanced.Youcanworkwithincenserightaway,thoughitishelpfultocurethemonyouraltaraswell.Werecommendatleastonelunarcycle.Burningtheherbscanamplifytheirpotencyinthespell.

• FeedTheStaffSpell.Onewaytodothisistowriteprayersandburnthem,gathertheashandblendwithbanishingherbsandblessedoils.Usethisoiltoblesscandlesandburnthesecandlesduringandafterthemainritualsarecomplete.Youcanalsosubstitutecandlesforthestaff;burningthemsymbolizesthebreakingofthestaff.
