Debating Teacher: Mr Tennant Years: 7 - 12 Are you someone who always wants to win arguments with your parents and friends? Then debating would be perfect for you! The Premier's Debating Challenge runs during Terms one, two and three and allows students to debate against other schools on set topics after an hour of preparation. SRC Teacher: Ms Yin Years: 7 - 12 This a place to share ideas of ways we can create a more inclusive and positive school experience for our students, from improv- ing school facilities to organising fun events with student well-being in mind. It runs all year, with meetings being held once a week at Lunch. Bands and Ensembles Teacher: Mr Norrish Years: 7 - 12 The THS bands and ensembles are the perfect place for players of musical instruments. Bands and ensembles include: Ukulele Ensemble, Rock Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble Practice times will vary based on the band / ensemble. These bands and ensembles regularly perform for school events and in the local community . Environmental Club Teacher: Ms Yin Years: 7 - 12 This club initiative run by the SRC is made for anyone who loves the environment. The club runs on Mondays at lunch in F6. They are involved with promoting environmental activities around the school and works on projects to improve the school and local community's environmental awareness. Tempe High School has a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs that are offered for all students to partake in.

Information about each can be found on the corresponding pages.

Tempe High School also has clubs being introduced in 2020. These new clubs include:

Athletics Club School Gym / Weights Club Well-being Club Pilates Club

Choir Teacher: Mr Norrish

Years: 7 - 12

This club is perfect for anyone who loves to sing. Whether you sing on stages or just sing in the shower, this extra-curricular activity is perfect for you and your voice. The choir meets Wednesday mornings in P5, is open to all year groups and often performs at school events and events in the local community

Volleyball Team Teacher: Ms Bolton

Years: 7 - 12

If you have ever wanted to learn to play volleyball or already know how to, this team is perfect for you! Practices are run before and after school and at recess and lunch times. Teams constantly compete in volleyball competitions against other schools with the Tempe teams currently ranking #7 in NSW!

Mock Trial Teacher: Ms Eagan

Years: 10 and 11

Mock Trial is the perfect extra-curricular activity for any aspiring lawyers or anyone interested in the law. It is a competition in which students partake in arguing different cases in front of a real magistrate against other schools. Mock Trial is run during Terms 1-3 with the trials occurring after school.

Chess Club Teacher: Miss White

Years: 7 - 12

Chess is considered to be one of the hardest sports to master however, by joining the chess club, you are one step closer to becoming an expert! The chess club participates in a round-robin styled competition after school on Fridays where a team of four go up against teams from other schools.

Homework Club Teacher: Mr Murphy

Years: 7 - 12

Homework can be one of the most daunting things for a high school student. However, the homework club is here to help! Come to the library on Tuesdays after school to get any and all questions answered by some of the teachers at Tempe High School.

Robotics Club Teacher: Mr Liu

Years: 7 - 12

Experts and beginners are all welcome to join the robotics club. The robotics club not only learns the ins and outs of a robot and how they function but also, designs, codes and builds them! The club meets after school on Wednesday and Fridays and participate in robotics competitions against other schools throughout the year.

Table Tennis Teacher: Mr Newton

Years: 7 - 12

Ever wanted to get coached in Table Tennis? Tempe High’s table tennis club is the place for you! Training runs after schools in the hall on Monday and Wednesday with an out of school coach teaching you all you need to know about how to play and master the sport.

Anime Club Teacher: Mr Tennent

Years: 7 - 12

Anime is one of the most popular forms of media in today's society and as such Tempe High had to have their own anime club. Join Mr Tennent in F6 on Fridays at lunchtime to sit and eat lunch while you watch anime. From Naruto to Cardcaptor Sakura, your favourite anime is bound to be played - and if not, you might find a new favourite!
