GOZZY 2013 2013 Gozzy Rock is the City of Gosnells’ annual contemporary music competition, which promotes original music from emerging bands across Western Australia. Entries are open to WA bands of any style or genre. To be eligible, your band: • Must play original music • Must be an emerging band (not formed for more than 2 years) • Must not have a distribution or recording deal • Must not be a previous Gozzy Rock winner • Must be available to perform at all performance dates as detailed on this entry form • Must be available to assist in promotion of Gozzy Rock through media coverage, interviews and advertising. ABOUT THE COMPETITION Step 1: Enter your band Follow the steps in the ‘How to Enter’ section of this Band Entry Form. Entries close on Thursday 20 December at 4.30pm. Step 2: Judging panel The judges will review all completed entries and submitted CDs. 12 bands will be selected to perform at the Semi Final. Step 3: The Semi Final The Semi Final will be held at Amherst Village Community Centre, corner of Holmes Street and Warton Road, Southern River on Sunday 24 February 2013 from 1pm to 7.30pm. From the Semi Final performances, six bands will be selected to perform at the Final. Step 4: The Final The Final will be held at Centennial Pioneer Park Amphitheatre, Gosnells on Saturday 9 March 2013 from 3pm to 7.30pm. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION A full sound system and backline will be provided at both the Semi Final and Final. A professional judging panel has been recruited for Gozzy Rock. All judges have been chosen for their experience and knowledge of the music industry. At all stages the judges’ decision will be final. Should any band be unavailable to perform at the Semi Final or Final, the judges reserve the right to replace them with another shortlisted band. The winners of Gozzy Rock 2013 will be announced at the conclusion of the Final, at approximately 7pm. GOZZY ROCK 2013 IS A SMOKE, DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE EVENT SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES. HOW TO ENTER To enter your band, please forward your submission by 4.30pm on 20 December 2012. Only complete entries will be accepted and must include: • A CD which includes recordings of at least three original songs, plus a band photo (jpeg, 300dpi) • A band biography, including all previous playing experience • A completed entry form • Full payment of the $25 application fee. Please Note: The application fee covers judging of your CD to enable a shortlist of entries for the Semi Final. Not all bands will progress to the Semi Final. The fee is non refundable.
