Bali Safari staff go on a study tour to Australia 2012

Staff at Monarto Zoo having a morning

briefing; enjoying a cup of hot coffee on a chilly morning, deciding who‟s going to look after Woko

and Adis.

Learn more about the animals directly from the keepers! Time for

a „Keeper Talk!‟

“ Meet the Cheetah”

Let‟s hop on the safari to feel the real adventure in Africa!

Education Program in Monarto Zoo.

How to be a zookeeper: Rule #1: don‟t

be afraid to get dirty! The students are

cleaning the Mongolian horse exhibit

Adis worked with the keeper to hide the jam, sauce and honey in the mound for chimps enrichment!

A good way to recycle unused tyres:

LET THE APES PLAY WITH THEM !

Did you know an adult chimp is around 7 times stronger than a human?

ENRICHMENT

Woko learns about the

mechanical side of zoo keeping

Australian native animals are

Woko‟s favorites, such as wallaby

and wombat

Monarto zoo has around 15 giraffes! The keepers can identify them from their different skin patterns. That‟s a lot of pattern to remember!

The huge Monarto Zoo has many animals Woko and Adis have never seen before, one of them is the very rare Eastern Bongo from Africa & Bison

Woko and Adis cleaned Puspa‟s bedroom and put extra blanket for her. She‟s a female

Sumatran Orangutan in Adelaide Zoo.

Woko and Jodie Ellen, the primate keeper, preparing

food and cakes for all primates in Adelaide zoo

Zookeeping 101 – feed, clean and enrich!

Woko has never seen such a huge tortoise

before. He‟s so amazed with this giant tortoise

Adis really wants to take this cute Koala home to Bali

Primates like to play with their food, at

Adelaide Zoo, Woko and Adis prepared

enrichment for primates by taping dried

fruits on the magazines and hiding

some popcorn and sultana in the boxes

for the them to find.

Adis saw how the students were really excited to learn about wildlife & especially about Orangutan habitat. Angela , the educator was explaining the threats that

Orangutans face in the wild today.

Another education program that makes Adisreally excited was about

Awareness Career Day, in this class some zoo staff talked about their job

experience in the zoo. The class was led by John, one

of education officer in Adelaide zoo.

•The students get a sneak peek to see what‟s going on behind the scenes of the Orangutan, Sun Bear and Giraffe

When they miss

Indonesia, they can still

enjoy the super yummy

Indomie when other

foods fail to please their taste buds!

Woko and Adis

enjoyed the

life in SA! The

freezing

weather, new

friends and

western food.

These two lovely dogs surely

didn‟t want Adisto leave them.

They gave Adis a very special present and

memories

See you again South Australia! We truly

enjoy our visit there and hope to return

to SA again someday!

THANK YOU for the unforgettable

memories!
