Music is an art that puts sounds together in way that people like or find interesting. Most music includes people singing with their voices or playing musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, or drums.

Nowadays, music plays an important part of our daily life. So in our presentation today, we are going to introduce about music.

What is music ?- Music is sound that has been organized by

using rhythm, melody or harmony. - There are four things that music has most of the

time: pitch, rhythm, dynamics and timbre.- There is no simple definition of music that cover

all cases.- According to Thomas Clifton, music is "a certain

reciprocal relation established between a person, his behavior, and a sounding object“.

History of Music

Even in the stone age people made music. The first music was probably made trying to imitate sounds and rhythms that occurred naturally. Human music may echo these phenomena using patterns, repetition and tonality. This kind of music is still here today.The first musical instrument used by humans was probably the voice. The human voice can make many different kinds of sounds.Most likely the first rhythm instruments or percussion instruments involved the clapping of hands, stones hit together, or other things that are useful to keep a beat.

Music has been developed for a long time. These days many new artists have come up such as Bruno Mars, Adam Levine, and many more constantly changing the face of the modern day music with songs like Gorilla, Maps, Break the Rules and many more. There are many types of music that affect our life.

WORLD MUSIC

1. Classical Music• Classical music  is art music produced or rooted in the

traditions of Western music. It encompasses a broad span of time from roughly the 11th century to the present day.

2. Country music• Country music is a genre of American popular

music that originated in Southern United States, in Bristol, Tennessee in the 1920s. It takes its roots from the southeastern genre of American folk music and Western music. 

• Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music.

• Music can be produced electronically. This is most commonly done by computers, keyboards, electric guitars and disk tables. They can mimic traditional instruments, and also produce very different sounds. 21st-century electronic music is commonly made with computer programs and hardware mixers.
