SPECIALTY CAMPS June 5 - August 18 2017 BAIERL FAMILY Y SPECIALTY CAMPS June 12 - August 18 2017 Y-OLYMPICS: JULY 3-7 Campers will go for the Gold as they compete against each other in the Y Olympics. Categories will include frisbee toss, balloon throw, fun-run and more! SWEAT AND SWIM CAMP: JUNE 19-23, AUGUST 14-18 Campers will practice and refine a different stroke in the water each day, then switch over to dry land exercises for the ultimate training effect. STEM: JULY 10-14, JULY 31-AUGUST 4 Come spend the week learning about STEM with our resident Mad Scientist Stephen. Campers will learn about the properties of dry ice, how to protect an egg from a four-story drop, how model rockets work, and the mysteries of mathematics, just to name a few. Campers will also engage in an engineering project to make a full size chair out of paper. Campers will not only learn about the different aspects of STEM, but will have fun in the process. SPORTS OF ALL SORTS: JUNE 12-16, JULY 10 - 14, AUGUST 21-25 Experience a different sport such as basketball, soccer, flag football and hockey each day. Fun games & scrimmages will take place all week to give your sports enthusiast every opportunity to showcase their love of sports. Children will also learn about real world science as they learn about the habitats of the Pokémon. Your child will have a blast becoming the best Pokémon trainer ever. PAINTING: JUNE 26-30, JULY 10-14 Your child will have fun experiencing a variety of teacher directed art projects. The campers will explore their creativity using acrylics, watercolors, yarn, paper, and more as we draw, paint, and create! Every child is an artist when given the opportunity to fly. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, programming, and pulleys as they create fun to play games. FOOTER HOCKEY CAMP: JULY 24-28, AUGUST 7-11 Learn the fundamentals and the skills of hockey. Stick handling, improving footwork and work as a team during this week long hockey camp! DANCE: AUGUST 7-11 Designed to introduce children to the engaging world of dance. This camp is a fun experience that focuses on the development of locomotion skills, balance, movement, stretching and rhythm. Join our new instructor Blair Starr. Mrs. Starr comes to the Baierl Family YMCA with 26 years of Dance training and 2 years of experience with a professional dance company in New York. COOKING: JULY 17-21, AUGUST 21-25 Nutrition and healthy eating habits are explored through hands-on activities and the preparation of a fun recipe. CREATION STATION: JULY 17-21 All aboard for Creation Station! This week is all about expressing yourself through art! Get on the fast track and explore messy and fun art projects. CLAY CAFE’: JUNE 12-16, AUGUST 21-25 The Clay Café is excited to offer an art camp where students will explore multiple mediums, and get hands-on experience with pottery painting, clay, mosaics, glass fusion, and canvas painting. Each student will be encouraged to use their imagination and will receive a sketch book and complete 5 original pieces of ART during this camp. Deposits - $25 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a camp spot, and applies to each week of camp at time of registration. A non-refundable payment will be drafted on the Wednesday before the weeks that the child is enrolled in camp. Campers will not be permitted to attend camp until fees are paid in full.

PAYMENT PROCEDURE

If you cancel camp registration at least 14 days in advance of the camp start date, you will receive a refund for that week minus the $25 deposit. Cancellations made fewer than 14 days in advance will not receive a refund. Cancellations must be made in writing.
