Examples of Partnerships

•Aveda Box Hill TAFE Victoria – have formed a partnership where Box Hill TAFE has mapped all of the Aveda training to the training package. They have done this with hair and beauty; they are a total Aveda college where they only use Aveda products and deliver Aveda training and philosophy.

•Brisbane Southbank Institute of Technology and Stefan Hairdressing – have formed a partnership that involves Southbank Institute only catering for the Stefan apprentices which number about 160. Stefan provides the apprentices and premises and Southbank Institute provides the teachers and the delivery and assessment of the training package.

Concerns Identified

•That the Hairdressing companies trainers had the qualification to deliver the training e.g. Cert Hair and TAA

•That not all the states would agree to participate in the programme

•That the company training that is being done does not line up with the level the apprentice is at their particular stage

•For how long does the training that was provided by the hairdressing company remain valid and reliable if the apprentice is not assessed at the appropriate time?

•Concerns that hairdressing companies might decide to become RTO’s
