Back to School

There is a virus in Australia. It is called ‘coronavirus’ and can make some people sick.

I had to stay home to keep my family safe and I even had to do my learning at home.

Now the virus is under control in Australia so I can go back to school. If I have an older brother or sister at SMCM, they will keep learning at home but will come back to school in 2 weeks. There will be some things that are different at school and lots of things will be the same.

When I arrive at school, I will say goodbye to Mum or Dad at the gate. They are not allowed to come into school to help to keep the germs away. There will be lots of teachers at school to help me if I am feeling worried.

When I come into my learning space, I will wash my hands and then unpack my bag and get ready for learning to start.

I will wash my hands when my teacher asks me to and especially before I eat. I will also try to remember to keep my hands off my face and try to keep a safe distance from others.

If I see tape on something at school, it means I can not use it. There will be tape on the drink taps. I am not allowed to drink from the taps at school but I can use my drink bottle.

It is ok if I am feeling nervous about coming back to school. My teacher will be there to help me and my friends will also be back!
