Short project description: The objective of the project is to improve

knowledge and raise awareness about values ofcultural/archaeological heritage as commonEuropean value and its potential in terms of

sustainable development of rural communities, to make the voluntary work and benefits morevisible for the community, and inform localyouth of the different opportunities of YIA. The chance to host a volunteer from othercountry will continue to promote theunderstanding and tolerance between participantsfrom different countries, cultures andbackground, as well as will raise the awareness ofour own cultural heritage. Including young

people from five different EU countries activelyworking on awareness rising of cultural heritage(which is recognized as an important factor ineconomic development on a European level) willencourage local/regional young people for asimilar action in order to contribute to aconservation of European cultural heritage ingeneral.

This project will promote European valuesof tolerance among young people from different

background and multicultural society in a way that this big European team of volunteer willwork together without prejudice.

It’s extremely relevant for our organization topromote the active participation of youngpeople for European important topics suchcultural heritage is and to include them (inimproving Strategic Action Plan Design) intobuilding even better European environment.

With raising awareness of the cultural diversityof European citizens (national evenings, presentation for children) will fight againstxenophobia and racism etc. Positive experiencesfrom volunteers during their 3 months longwork and life in Croatia and sharing to theircommunities will contribute to combatprejudice and xenophobia toward Croatia asnew member state. Furthermore, “Back to the Ancient Europe”2project will continue to encourage ouryoungsters (one of our target groups) to havedirect contact with other EU youngsters, become actively involved in the local civicnetworks as well as in cooperation in aEuropean level. This collaboration will bring us the opportunity to open future perspectives(cooperation, non formal education, professional opportunities) to our youngsterson abroad.

Priority for becoming a EVS volunteer in “Back to the Ancient Europe”2 project will haveyoungsters with a fewer opportunities(economic problems - unemployed youngpeople). Therefore they will have theopportunity to get the international experience,

improve language and communication skills. In this way the project will contribute to theirinclusion and be a example of good practice toother organisations. Due to huge potential of cultural heritage foreconomic development of the community, project will influence to young local peopleoffering them new perspectives in ensuringexistence in future. That is how project willcontribute to annual priority –  Youth

Unemployment.

“Argonauta” as a hostingorganization has by now collected a certainexperience in EVS projects (hosted 4 long termand 5 short term EVS volunteers). We arestrongly motivated to continue with EVSprojects - improve its quality for the volunteersand broaden influence to the local youth.
