BACK MATT RAPID REPLY: Beacon Readers Comment Regarding

Lewandowski new 9th Ward alderman

9:36 AM on March 23, 2011

Aurora's new 9th ward Alderman stated: "Lewandowski said he plans to focus onattracting and keeping businesses in the 9th Ward, especially during hard economic

times. His immediate goal is to get the ward’s website up to date." Then he went on toState "Despite his new title, Lewandowski promised his family that he’d still get thingsdone around the house. "

My question is With his full time job and id duties around the home front, what time is he

going to devote to bring in business to the 9th ward, how does he plan to bring in realJobs and lower taxes for all?

Look my friends, this had to be the worst choice that has ever been made for the citizensof the 9th ward. But the up-side is that we can correct it with in 16 months. Matt

Harrington would have been the right choice, he's been vetted the Daily Herald and the

Beacon had high marks for him regarding his ideas to bring in real business, real jobs andlower taxes for all Aurorans.

Matt Please think about running for the 9th ward if you are not successful

in your run against Richard Irvin for Alderman at Large. We need real people like you tohelp fight for the peoples rights in Aurora to keep the imbeciles from flashing our future

down the drain.

Your greatest supporter.

Jack Gallagher

By Stephanie Lulay [email protected] Mar 23, 2011 2:14AM

AURORA — Allan Lewandowski officially became the second man toserve as 9th Ward alderman Tuesday night.

The resolution passed unanimously at the City Council meeting. Lewandowski will fillout the remainder of former alderman Leroy Keith’s term, which expires in 2013.

Mayor Tom Weisner said he was pleased with the process by which Lewandowski was

appointed.

“Lewandowski best represents the flavor of the ward,” Weisner said. “I have a feeling

you will be kept very busy.”

Lewandowski said he plans to focus on attracting and keeping businesses in the 9th

Ward, especially during hard economic times. His immediate goal is to get the ward’swebsite up to date.

The 9th Ward seat on the city’s far southeast side has been vacant since December whenKeith resigned because he took a new job and was moving out of town.

His resignation came less than two weeks after a deadline that would have allowed voters

to elect an alderman to finish the term, rather than having the mayor make anappointment, with council approval.

Lewandowski thanked the mayor for his recommendation and aldermen for their appointment. “And I’d like to thank Leroy Keith who gave me his approval,” he said.

A friend and neighbor of Keith’s, Lewandowski said he worked on the former alderman’scampaigns.

After moving to Aurora 12 years ago, Lewandowski, 47, has served on his homeowners

association board, volunteered at Oswego East High School sports events and is amember of the St. Charles Sportsmen Club. He also has volunteered his time with Habitat

for Humanity. He is married with two daughters.

Lewandowski has been a senior database administrator/technical senior infrastructure

architect for Aon Hewitt for 17 years.

Despite his new title, Lewandowski promised his wife that he’d still get things done

around the house. “I am ready to take this on — this opportunity,” he said.

Edward Bugg, Matt Harrington, Daryle Moore and Michael Ochs also applied for the

open 9th Ward aldermanic position.
