degree) Semesters 1,3,5 – full time study at IT, TraleeStudent will take one online module in Year 3 Semesters 2,4,6, - work placement at host
organisationStudents would normally work at host
organisation during holiday periods.

Direct Entry to IT, TraleeNot advertised on CAO – not specifically points basedAs a rule of thumb, candidates should have circa 300 pointsEmployers can impose additional conditions if they wishApplicant must have secured placement before acceptancePayment a matter between student and employerResponsibility of applicant to maintain placement throughout the 3 yearsApplication process closes on July 1st (same date as CAO ‘change of mind’ date)

Duration of academic placement is 12 weeksIntern would normally remain with sponsor throughout Summer periodDuring academic placement, intern will have an IT, Tralee tutor and a work based supervisorStudent will have to perform and report on a number of scheduled tasks during 12 weeks

Reports will be submitted to IT, Tralee tutor for gradingStudent will have to attend IT, Tralee to make presentation on placementStudent will also be subject to an oral examination on the prescribed tasks for the particular placement.
