A. Things to be noticed 1. During the umbilical cord has not been

separated, the baby should not be bathed in a tub (bath soak) because it will slow the fall of the umbilical cord

B. There are two ways to bathe a baby

1. Bath with a sponge / washlap• Is the way to bathe a baby without the

baby's body soaked in water.• An alternative in the first weeks after birth

2. Full bathIs the way for baby bathing with soaking the baby's body into the water.

C. The step of baby bathing

1. Use a sponge bathing– Lay your baby on a towel– Use washlap or a soft cloth moistened with warm

water– Newborns baby do not need any soap– Start by wiping your baby's face, eyes, ears, and nose– End the shower by cleaning the baby's genitals – Wash the genitals from front to back to prevent the

entry of bacteria in a baby girl– Male genitals were cleansed from the bottom of the

scrotal sac (scrotum)

2. Bath • Hold the bottom, shoulders, and head with

left hand• With his right hand, close the baby's legs,

finger positions between the two legs• Enter the baby into the tub with the bottom

first• Clean the baby's face with a wet washlap

without using soap• Smile and talk to the baby while the baby a

D. Finishing touches

1. Clean the cord with cotton buds or moistened sterile kassa 70% alcohol, then wrap the cord loosely with dry sterile kassa

2. Rub the baby's entire body with oil telon, do not use eucalyptus oil being too harsh for sensitive baby skin

3. Give powder to abdomen and back of the baby, do not give the powder in the genital area

4. Put the diaper under the center, put on clothes, hair trim at last
