What We Are Looking For (Research Hypotheses):
Do more than 50% of Wilkes professors have PhD’s?
Do high degree professors obtain jobs faster than low degree professors?
What is the probability that a professor taught at Wilkes for more than 16 years?
Were professors able to find a job after college in less than a year?
Target Audience:
Wilkes University ProfessorsBusinessScienceEducationCommunication
Sampling Plan: We created and then collected 23
questionnaires for professors
Method of Survey Administration: We personally handed out and collected
questionnaires from Wilkes professors
Summary of Respondents: Our questionnaire asked 8 questions:
Mandatory:○ 1.) Colleges/University attended (all that apply)○ 2.) Degree earned (all that apply)○ 3.) How long after college were you able to obtain a full-time job? (circle
best answer)○ 4.) How many years have you already taught at Wilkes University?
(circle best answer)○ 5.) What department do you teach? (all that apply)○ 6.) Which factors do you believe define SUCCESS from your
perspective? (rate)○ 7.) Do you plan on receiving higher education in the future?
Optional:○ 1.) What is your approximate yearly income?

Regression Analysis
Conclusion:
Relevant findings:
More than 50% of Wilkes professors have their PhD.All professors who took questionnaire got a full time
job less than one to two years after graduation. The science department at Wilkes has the highest
rate of income.Probability of teaching for at least 16 years is about 30%.69.6% of professors believe family to be most important to
success.Professors with a PhD believe family to be most important
to success; Bachelor’s: Income.
Recomendations:
Increase the number of questionnaires handed out to professors.
Use online surveys Increase the number of open-ended and
closed-ended questions. Expand to other Universities. Avoid asking direct questions (Ex:
Income) **give free gift for filling out survey!!
