The error signal is output on the analog output when the inputsensor is defective.

With the current outputs, the maximum load (total resistanceof the lines and connected devices) 750W may not beexceeded. When a current output is not used, its terminals (+)and (-) must be jumpered. Otherwise an error message takesplace.

A total of 3 winding temperatures (e.g. for each winding of 3phase transformers) can be mapped with this add-on module. The CT currents of the additional windings must be connectedto the add-on module for this.

All 3 winding temperatures as well as the 3 load currents aredisplayed and for remote electronic data transmission of thewinding temperatures there are 2 additional analog outputsavailable.

There is still an additional alarm and trip contact available asredundancy for the alarm and trip contact of the main device.

The calculation of life consumption and the activation of theswitching contacts is performed using the highest windingtemperature respectively.

The measuring range of the oil level sensor input is 0 to 100%.If the input signal is too high or too low, the defective sensoris detected.

The add-on module is equipped with 2 analog outputs fortransmitting both oil levels OL1 and OL2. The output signal canbe parameterized. The following output signals can be set asstandard:

• 0 to 20 mA (error signal > 22 mA)

• 4 to 20 mA (error signal > 22 mA)

• 4 to 20 mA (error signal < 3.6 mA)

• 0 to 1 mA

• 0 to 10 V

Additional output signals can be implemented with a signalconverter.

The error signal is output when a sensor is defective or anopen analog output is detected.

The additional device has 4 relay contacts for notification ifthe oil level exceeds or falls below a certain value. The switchfunction (inceasing or dereasing) and the respective switchingpoint of the contacts can be parameterized as desired.

The add-on module supports the self-monitoring function ofthe main device EPT202. In addition to error recognition of themain device, the following functions are constantly monitoredand detected as errors:

• Sensor oil level OL1 is defective

• Analog output OL1 is open

• Sensor oil level OL2 is defective

• Analog output OL2 is open

When one of these errors has been detected, the ERRORcontact is closed, the ERROR LED lights up and the error isdisplayed on the LED and in the visualization software.

The data sets of the main device’s data logging function areextended by OL with the following data:

• Oil level transformer (OL1) and oil level OLTC/LTC (OL2)

• Status of the relay contacts OL1 MIN, OL1 MAX, OL2 MINand OL2 MAX

• Error detection

A description now follows of the additional menus andparameters which appear on the display of the main deviceand which can be parameterized via the operator buttons ofthe main device EPT202.

Parameterization of the EPT202 via the visualization softwareis described in chapter 7.

Correct functioning of the additional module and the maindevice EPT202 is not ensured unless the device is completelyparameterized.

The following is a description of the parameterization ofextended functions OL and CT. Please refer to the operatinginstructions BA2076 on how to operate the basic deviceEPT202. The complete menu structure can be found in thequick reference guide.

The percentage display of the oil level and the percentagesetting of the switching point refer to the sensor inputsignal.

The sensor input signal can differ from the percentagefilling height or the percentage filling amount due to theconstruction of the tank or the functionality of the trans-ducer.

Please take this into consideration during the parameter-ization of the switching point.

If the basic device EPT202 is connected with an add-on module EPT202OL/CT or EPT202CT and the visualization software isstarted, then the additional functions of the software are displayed and are described in more detail as follows:

• In case of OL extension the menu item oil level is displayed. The analog outputs and the switching contacts can beparameterized in this menu.

• The measuring values for winding temperature WTI2 and WTI3, as well as the load current 2 and 3 and the relay contacts ALARMII and TRIP II appear in the monitor window during the CT expansion. During the OL extension the additional oil levels and thecorresponding relay contacts are visible.

• The saving of the top values is also expanded by the corresponding values (e.g. winding temp. 2 max.)
