The framework for the course
Course Texts
There are two texts for the course:
Harmon, Paul, Business Process Change, Second Edition (2007), by Business Process Trends
Process Management Memory Jogger, GOAL/QCP
Students are expected to have their own copy of each of these books, either electronically or in hard copy
The instructor will check that students have the appropriate texts for the course
The instructor did a bulk purchase of texts, and has a few copies of the first text and sufficient copies of second text available for purchase by students

Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The course objectives are to help students understand:
organizational management from a business process perspective when and how to apply process standardization concepts in and use of the balanced scorecard for strategic planning methods for establishing and sustaining a process management
organization, and for BPM governance
By the end of the course, it’s expected students will be able to:
diagram an organization as a network of interrelated processes assess an organization’s process capability and governance align organizational strategy with critical business measures and the
budgeting process. develop a plan for implementing BPM in an organization

Approach to Grading
I don’t grade on the curve, I grade based on whether students meet the required standard
Everyone in the course can earn an A – over the past few courses, I’ve assigned nearly 30% of my students an A
Even if you think you can't get an A, or you don’t typically get an A, it’s possible – you just need to do all the work to the best of your ability
Assignments will be collected electronically prior to the start of class. Late assignments will be graded down: the amount of reduction depends on how late they are received
