1 PurposeIn the SAP Best Practices for Business Planning and Consolidation documentation DVD, input schedules and reports are delivered, which you can use to enter and review plan data for the fiscal year 2012.

This Business Process Procedure document describes where to find the input schedules and reports and how to save and review the plan data in the system.

2 Prerequisites

2.1 IE Configuration - Log on Interface for WebBefore Log on interface for web, please make following setting and make sure there is a pop-up window to ask you enter user name and password.

1. Open Windowns Internet Explorer Brower.

2. Choose Tool Internet Options.

3. Choose Security tab.

4. Make setting as screenshot in both Local intranet and Trusted sites zone (by choosing Custom level):

5. Choose OK and exit.

2.2 Log on SAP BPC system1. Choose the proper link ( for example:http:// [domain] : [port] /OSoft/ )

3. Choose OK.

4. On the SAP BusinessObjects- Launch Page, choose Interface for the web.

5. Choose AppSet SAP_BP_Planning, choose OK.

6. Choose Business Process Flows.

7. On the Business Process Flows screen, choose the business process flow named Simulation and Setting Target.

8. Steps assigned to this user are listed in lower part of the page.

9. Choose the step to find the sub-step list. The detailed explanation is included in part 4.

10. Change Current View as follow:

2.3 IE Configuration - Back to BPFIf you do not want to new a page in web interface after choosing back to BPF, please make setting as following:

1. Open Windowns Internet Explorer Brower.

2. Choose Tool Internet Options.

3. Choose General tab.

4. Choose Settings in the Tabs area.

5. On the Tabbed Browsing Settings tab, make setting as screenshot:

6. Choose OK and exit.

2.4 Switch User Log on SAP BPC systemWhen you switch the user to log on BPC system, please make sure all the BPC relevant screens are closed .

4 Business Processes

4.1 Performing Simulation

UseCorporate planner performs the simulation base on the acutal performance of last 3 years.

Procedure1. Refer to Step 2.2, log on the system via user Corporate Planner (for example, Planner_Corp).

For step 9, on the SAP Business Objects – Business Process Flows page, make the following entries:

2. From the list, choose Maintain Simulation.

3. Choose Step Maintain Simulation.

4. If you’re prompted to log on to the system provide the appropriate user-ID and password and choose Finish.

5. The B59_IS_Simulation input schedule opens in BPC for Excel.

6. Make sure that the page header is set correctly as below:

7. Enter smoothing factor for smoothing method in range between 0 to 1 into the Smoothing method: Smoothing Factor filed, or enter an increase/decrease rate from last year (negative value is allowed) into the increase or decrease of last year: Rate filed.

Exponential smoothing is used here to make forecast. If the smoothing factor is close to 1, then calculated taget value is close to the value of last year; if the smoothing facto is close to 0, then calculated target value is close to the value of last 3 years.

8. Mark one or multiple input ranges that you want to perform target simulation, and then choose the Simulation button that is correspond to the method you selected. You can also directly enter an amount into the input range.

9. Choose Send Data.

10. In the Send Options area of the action pane, choose active worksheet.

11. Choose Refresh.

12. On the dialog box xx record(s) will be sent…, choose Yes.

13. On the Refresh schedule results screen, check that there are no rejected records and choose Close.

14. Repeat step 5 to step 13 for all other department (for example, FI Deparment, IT Department, Sales Team 1 or Sales Team2) by choosing Change button next to Department.

This step is not necessary if you have selected CorporateHQ in the step 7.

15. Choose Back to BPF.

16. Choose No to confirm the dialog box.

17. If you’re prompted to log on to the system provide the appropriate user-ID and password and choose OK.

18. Choose Complete.

ResultTarget is planned in the input schedule based on actual historical data of last 3 years.

4.2 Submiting Simulation Data

UseCorporate planner submit the simulation data.

Procedure1. Choose Back to My Activities.

2. Choose Step Submit Simulation Data.

3. Choose Submit Simulation Data.

4. In Work Status Options – Step 1 of 2 on the right side, choose Another CV radio button and make the settings as below:

7. Choose Back to BPF.

8. Choose Complete.

9. Choose Back to My Activities.

ResultThe Planned data has been submitted.

4.3 Approving Simulation Data

UseCorporate Manager approves the simulation data.

Procedure1. Refer to step 2.2, log on the system via user Corporate Manager (for example, Mgr_Corp). For

step 10, on the SAP Business Objects – Business Process Flows page, make the following entries:
