recently registered in St. Bernadette Parish:
☺ Jasmany & Claudia Escribano,
and children Kevin, Jazlyn, & Rmani
Watch for their picture on the bulletin board in the Gathering Area so
you can welcome them personally. We extend an invitation to all who
regularly worship with us to become registered members of our parish.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel Special Advent devotions will be offered at St. Bernadette Parish on
November 30 and December 7, 14, and 21, at 4:15PM in the church.
All are welcome to come and pray during this holy season of
preparation as we await the solemn celebration of Christ’s birthday.
Submit Christmas Memorials Donations for Christmas Memorials, in whatever amount you choose,
may be placed in the collection basket or sent to the parish office
anytime before December 16. Please include the legible name(s) of
your departed loved one(s) to be held in memory and your name to
receive credit for the donation. Identify it as “Christmas Memorial.”
Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, falls on a
Sunday this year. Consequently, the celebration of the solemnity moves
to Monday, December 9, but the obligation to attend Mass does not.

Help give aid to typhoon victims If you would like to help the people of the
Philippines and Vietnam who were recently
devastated by the typhoon, you are encouraged
to send a donation directly to Catholic Relief
Services with the notation that it is for this
particular relief effort (P.O. Box 17090,
Baltimore, MD 21297-0303 or www.crs.org). We
also ask that you join with people around the
world in praying for those who have died, been
injured, or are in need of relief.
La Sagrada Familia In 1981, our Archdiocese began a relationship with
a courageous community of people who were eager
to become a parish. Two priests from our Archdiocese
responded to their invitation and today there is a
population of 30,000 people in La Sagrada Familia
parish living in a small area of the Dominican
Republic. The growth of the parish can be measured in
terms of buildings and programs and projects
established to meet the changing needs of the people.
However, more importantly, the growth can be
measured by the bonds of faith and friendship that
have continued to deepen between the people of La
Sagrada Familia and the parishioners and students in
our Archdiocese.
This December, parishes in the Archdiocese have been
asked to host a special collection for La Sagrada
Familia. Colored envelopes will be available in the pews
the weekend of December 7-8. Checks, made payable
to St. Bernadette Parish, or cash can be placed in these
envelopes to give a donation to La Sagrada Familia.

Today we celebrate Christ the King and are reminded that all was
created through Him and for Him. Does my stewardship of the
blessings entrusted to me give evidence that Christ is Lord of my life?
Northwest Catholic School News It’s hard to believe the first quarter of our school
year has already ended. Basketball season is
starting and we have established the first ever
cheerleading team for NWC. Go Knights! Throughout the first
quarter, we celebrated the fall season at our Fall Family Fun Night.
We decorated pumpkins, had games for the kids, and enjoyed
delicious treats. It was a huge success and we had overwhelming
participation from our families. The best part of all was seeing our
students, parents, and staff working together to provide a night of
fun for all.
The Book Fair will be located at both the Lower and Upper Campuses
from November 20-26. You can also check out our Online Book Fair
from November 13 to December 3 and the books will be delivered
to school.

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks for your participation in
the Soles for Education walk. Among the thousands that participated,
we had 110 people walking proudly for our school. With your help,
we surpassed our goal of $4,000 and raised $6,018.02 for
Northwest Catholic. This will go a long way towards making our
growing school accessible for all.
