The Hidden Cellar Society is a Millenial Wine Club at Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack for ages 21-35. You can’t beat a gorgeous sunny summer day at the Wolffer wine stand where my friends and I enjoyed complementary tastings of all four wines (it’s one of the perks of being a member). On Saturday the lovely Kelly Killoren Bensimon hosted a book signing for her new guide I Can Make You Hot - The Supermodel Diet. To those not in the know, the Super Model Diet does not consiste of only ice cubes and cigarettes, but it’s actually about treating your body like a Ferrari, as Kelly explained. The book is about getting readers on the way to a lean, strong, and realistic body. It includes recipes for Kelly’s favorite dishes along with hilarious personal stories. The book signing took place at C. Wonder in Southampton. After we got our “Nikki On The Daily” video interview (which will be up on www.indyeastend.com shortly) Kelly stepped outside for a photo op on one of C. Wonders’ cute neon beach cruisers (I’m 100 percent buying one). Sweets and treats were also on hand, with candy and lemonade inside the C. Wonder shop.

Shelter Island filmmaker Albert Maysles and actor John Turtorro presented the award for Outstanding Dance Documentary to Pina. Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and “Law & Order” star Tamara Tunie presented the award for Outstanding Choreography in Film to The Artist. A triple threat – dancer, singer,

and actress -- Julianne Hough first

made the acquaintance of television

viewers via ABC-TV’s top ranking

“Dancing with the Stars.” Partnered

with gold medalist Apolo Ohno and

later Indianapolis 500 champ Helio

Castroneves, the blond-haired, blue-

eyed beauty won both seasons four

and five.

Moving onto the big screen, the

23-year-old next costarred with Cher

and Christina Aguilera in Burlesque

and kept the momentum building

with a star turn in the 2011 remake

of Footloose.

When director Adam Shankman

announced he was adapting the

Broadway musical Rock of Ages and

wanted her to play the pivotal love

interest -- small town girl Sherrie

Christian -- her initial reply was a

resounding “No.”

It didn’t require much coaxing

to change Hough’s mind, however,

not after Shankman revealed, “Tom

Cruise is in it.” And Cruise, who

had practiced five hours daily with

Axl Rose’s vocal coach, lived up to

Hough’s expectations. Speaking in

a rush of words, she commented,

“He really is a rock god. I would

have loved to have seen him actually

in the 80s as Stacee Jaxx, because I

think that he would have been the

most sought after rock star of that

period.”

Unfortunately, one of Hough

and Cruise’s duets, “Rock You Like

a Hurricane,” proved too hot for

public consumption. Blushing ever

so slightly, she revealed, “It was

literally bad ass. I like to say it’s a

musical lap dance. It was a little

bit too much for people, especially

women, who didn’t really like

Sherrie after that. So they cut the

scene out . . . It will be on the DVD.

I can’t wait for you to see that, too.

This is the most physical dancing

that I saw Tom do. He was amazing.”

The storyline, heavily punctuated

by the classic rock sounds of Poison,

Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Foreigner,

Pat Benatar, and Whitesnake,

finds Sherrie getting canned at the

Bourbon Room, where Amagansett’s

Alex Baldwin plays the grumpy club

owner with aplomb. Next, Sherrie

finds herself working the pole at a

nearby strip joint.

Even Hough couldn’t have

anticipated the agility and strength

required. Her experience borders

on admiration for the ladies. She

elaborated, “It was extremely

tough. I thought it was going to be

a lot of bumping and grinding on

a pole. Then I come to find out that

you need to have actual upper body

strength. And my arms became

totally ripped. There’s one pole

specialist in that movie that can

walk down the air backwards and

hangs on by one hand. It’s absolutely

incredible. I had bruises everywhere

plus lots of sore muscles.”

Hough is making good on that

vow to concentrate on her acting

talents in her next two projects –

Nicholas Sparks’ Safe Haven, along

with Oscar winner Diablo Cody’s

directorial debut, Lamb of God.

“If I’m passionate about a

certain project, I want to do it,” she

interjected. One of those passions

is her singing career Hough has

recorded the follow-up to her self

titled collection, that debuted in

the Number One slot on Billboard’s

Top Country chart and spun off

two singles – “That Song in My

Head,” and “My Hallelujah Song.”

The effort garnered two trophies

at the 2009 Academy of County

Music Awards for Top New Featured

Vocalist and Top New Artist. Her

sophomore effort, “The Julianne

Hough Holiday Collection” was

distributed exclusively by Target.

“I have a second studio record

completely done, but we’ll see when

that comes out. Because, again, I

want to be able to give the right

time and commitment it takes to

promote,” she noted.

Steeped in 80s classic rock for

the past year, Hough might borrow

a page from their play list when she

goes on tour. “I think the melodies

from the 80s are what really made

the songs so iconic and classic. I

wish there would be more melodies

like that today in music.”

And yes, there’s one other little

personal item long time fans are

curious about. That’s Hough’s two-

year relationship with “American

Idol” host and television producer

Ryan Seacrest, 14 years her senior.

Are there wedding bells in the

near future? Apparently, discretion

is another one of Hough’s well-

rehearsed skills. She demurely

answered, “Oh, goodness. Eventually

in my life, definitely. That’s what I

was put on this Earth to do – get

married and have babies.”

a fine performance. Cast as Sam, a high-powered salesman whose life crashes when a big deal collapses on the same day his father dies, Pine discovers he has a sister he’s never met (Elizabeth Banks). It doesn’t

sound like much of a plot, but an absorbing screenplay and good actors make it surprisingly effective. Michelle Pfeiffer and the ever-present Mark Duplass co-star.

Now PlayingBeasts Of The Southern Wild *

(PG-13) Fox Searchlight has high hopes for this fantastical debut film by Ben Zeitlin, and it is a magical ride indeed. In fact, it is the first film of the year likely to garner an Oscar nomination. Don’t miss it.

Snow White And The Huntsmen (PG-13) Credit Kristen Stewart, who can look dull and bored around werewolves and vampires and equally nonchalant with the evildoers and would-be assassins in this wacky film. The trouble is director Rupert Sanders isn’t sure if it’s a drama, an adventure, or a romance movie. In the end, it’s all over the map. Charlize Theron is luscious as the evil queen; Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin also star.

Your Sister’s Sister (R) Director Lynn Shelton hasn’t had much commercial success – or artistic either, for that matter – with bombs like Humpday – but she has fashioned a complex and rewarding dramedy with this one. Shelton has attracted an excellent cast, and Emily Blunt, Mark Duplass, and Rosemarie DeWitt play off of each other like seasoned pros. Part family drama, part sex farce, the film is convoluted but undeniably original.

Safety Not Guaranteed (R) Speaking of R rated dramedies starring Mark Duplass, here’s another one, opening almost simultaneously. Newcomer Colin Trevorrow, working off a script from Derek Connolly, directs Duplass as an eccentric supermarket clerk who believes in time travel. It’s quirky and

funny, and it comes from the folks who brought us Little Miss Sunshine. Like that movie, it’s a little film with a big heart. Jeff Garlin and Kristin Bell co-star.

Prometheus (R) * Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) is back in the sci-fi genre, and he delivers a terrifying epic sure to be one of the summer’s most popular movies. Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) leads a stellar cast that includes Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Guy Pearce. Don’t miss it.

The Loved Ones (NR) New director Dean Burns mines the Carrie vein with delightful results. When Lola asks Brent to take her to the prom and he says no Lola exacts her revenge – and bad things happen. It’s a good date flick.

High School (R) It’s the summer season, and the teens love going to the movies. This comedy about an honor student who takes a toke and then finds out he has to take a mandatory drug test, should scratch the itch. Adrien Brody is delightfully over-the-top as the local drug dealer. All the Cheech and Chong stoner moves are on display, and every pot cliché used. In other words, the youth of America will relate.

Moonrise Kingdom * (PG-13) Wes Anderson (Bottle Rocket, Royal Tennenbaums) has assembled an incredible cast for this tale of two 12 year olds who run away into the wilderness as a violent storm approaches a New England island circa 1965. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff, Ed Norton a scout leader, and Frances McDormand the mother of the girl as the frantic search intensifies with each passing hour. Place the salmon skin side down in the pan and lightly press the fish against the pan when it puffs up. Allow the fish to cook on the skin for about five minutes at the medium low temperature to crisp the skin. When the rice is close to finished and you are about ready to assemble your plate, put the fish in a 400 degree oven to cook for another five minutes.

When the rice is cooked, fork in two tbsp of butter along with the toasted nuts and the cranberries. Season to your liking and cover to keep warm until the salmon has finished cooking. Plate by simply placing the salmon over a nice portion of the rice and garnish with some chives and micro-greens.

Ingredients (serves 4)

1 1/2 lbs salmon fillet3/4 c light brown sugar

1 orange juiced and zest removed2 tbsp kosher salt

2 tbsp minced ginger2 c wild rice

1 white onion diced1 handful chives

1 handful micro greens1/2 c dried cranberries

3 tbsp butter1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 c toasted walnutssalt and pepper to taste

MethodFor this recipe, it is ideal to cure

the salmon overnight or at least four or five hours. Begin by portioning the fish into six ounce steaks, then heating the brown sugar, kosher salt, orange juice, ginger, and orange zest over medium heat for about five minutes. Let the liquid sit and cool before pouring it generously over the salmon.

Cover in plastic wrap and put in the fridge overnight. When you are ready to go the following day start by sautéing the diced white onion in the olive oil until translucent. Add a tbsp of butter and the rice, then stir until it is coated by the oil and butter.

Add two quarts of water, cover and cook on medium high for about 35 minutes or until the rice is cooked. While the rice cooks remove the salmon from its curing liquid and
