B Media-Morphosis: learning to understand the media and art of our time by recognizing patterns and principles in previous centuries and other cultures. Discovering ideas for the future by combining high-tech and low-tech interfaces. Appealing to all senses, going beyond the actual media hegemony of the eye and the ear. Below 23 snapshots from long visual narratives are shown, forming the basis of the course. These scrolls may take half an hour and more to be narrated. Most image elements used are documented in overlays that can be called up by the students later, as the scrolls will come on line for further reference. There is a close relationship between the content of these scrolls and the proposed literature. Apart from the core documents and books, a wide spectre of citations related to the discourse coming with the scrolls will be made available after each lecture. Books with a high quantity of visuals will be another asset for the course to allow the students to widen there cultural horizon. and create retaceable memories for later. The on-line ‘syllabus will expand as the course progresses and will remain on-line for an extensive period. The students will thus have a place to come back to even after their study. There will practical task to fulfill by the students, some special guests may join some of the lectures and excursions and field woirk is envisaged as well.
