    1. Turn I-DOGON by pressing the Nose Button. Its ears will moveand it will play a special sound and LED light animation toshow you that its awake and ready to play!

    2. When you rst turn I-DOG on, it will be in puppy mode. Thismeans it has not yet established a personality because it hasntbeen fed any of your music.You can give I-DOG love andattention, however, it is best tofeed it music as soonas possible.

    3. When you are nished playingwith I-DOG, press and holddown the Nose Button for 5seconds to turn itOFF.I-DOGwill play an LED animation andsound to signal that its goingto sleep.

    To keep I-DOG happy, be sure to give it plenty of love andattention. Do this by petting or waving your hand over the topof its head and watch it respond with warm glowing LED lightpatterns. You can also press its Nose Button and it will make ascratching sound effect while displaying a spinning LED light

    pattern. Double-click its Nose Button quickly and repeatedlyto hear music that represents what personality I-DOG currentlyhas. If I-DOG doesnt play a musical riff in return, that means itdoesnt yet have a personality.

    If I-DOG needs more loveand attention from you, itsmiddle LED light will blinka pinkish/purplish color.The faster it blinks, the moreurgently it needs your attention.When you see the middle LEDlight blinking purple, pet orwave your hand over the topof its head or press its NoseButton right away to show

    you care!

    To keep I-DOG satis ed and healthy, be sure to feed (play) itlots of music! (At least 5 minutes every hour.)

    If I-DOG is hungry and needs more music from you, itsmiddle LED light will blink blue.It will blink faster as it getshungrier. When you see the middle LED light blinking blue,feed it some music!

    Start playing music on your musical device (CD player, stereo,portable personal music player, computer, video game systemetc.). Its ears will perk up to show you that its listening and itshead and ears will periodically dance to the music. Observe thecolor of the lights to determine what personality its showing youand the ashing LED light patterns and animations to determinewhat mood its in. (Personalities and Moods are covered onpages 10-13.)

    Different kinds of music give I-DOG different personalities.I-DOG changes its personality based on the type of music you feed it. Its personality is displayed through thecolorof LED lights that ash and blink on its face.When you rst take I-DOG out of the package it will be inpuppy mode. This means it has not yet established a personalitybecause it hasnt heard any of your music yet. After playingit music for approximately 5 minutes its personality will beginto emerge. The type of music you listen to will in uence itspersonality. The following chart shows what types of I-DOGpersonalities you are likely to see emerge. (Light patternsmay vary.)Note: I-DOG will responddifferently to various types ofmusic. Depending on whatpersonality it has at the time,the light colors and patternswill vary.

    MoodsWhen music is not being played, double-click the Nose Button andI-DOG will show you a mood.I-DOG changes its moods based on how much love and attention yougive it (or dont give it) and the type of music youve played for it. Youcan tell what kind of mood its in from listening to the sounds it makes,the LED light patterns it displays and the music it plays.

    When youre done feeding I-DOG (no music is playing), double-clickthe Nose Button and pay attention to the light patterns I-DOG displaysto determine what mood its in.

    ECSTATIC

    This means that I-DOG is so excited and happy that it cant contain itself!Youre feeding (playing) it enough music and giving it too much love andattention (petting its head or nose too frequently).

    EXCITEDThis means that youre feeding I-DOG enough music and giving it a lot oflove and attention. Youre petting its head or nose enough to keep it excited.

    HAPPYThis means that youre feeding I-DOG enough music and giving it theright amount of love and attention. Youre petting its head or nose the rightamount of times.

    NORMALThis means that I-DOG is content. Youre feeding it enough music andgiving it the right amount of love and attention. Youre petting its head ornose enough to keep it content.

    BOREDThis means that youre not feeding I-DOG enough music or giving itenough love and attention and its getting lonely. Pet its head or nose andplay it some music to get it out of this mood.

    LONELYThis means that I-DOG really needs to be fed more music and shownmore love and attention! Be sure to pet its head or nose and play it some

    more music!

    SADThis means that youve left I-DOG alone for too long. Itll start to cryand play sad music. When this happens be sure to pet its head or noseright away and play it some happy music!

    SICK When you see I-DOG glowing green and yellow this means its feelingsick. When this happens be sure to pet its head or nose a lot andfeed it some music right away!

    1. To quiet I-DOG down, tap its Tail Switch and it will give you5 minutes of peace and quiet. But beware! I-DOG will get angrywhen you do this! To wake it up again press its nose.

    2. If you will not be playing with I-DOG for a while, pleaseremember to press and hold down the Nose Button for 5 secondsto turn it OFF. This will help conserve battery life.

    3. If you do not interact with I-DOG for one hour, it willautomatically shut off.

    4. If you leave I-DOG ON in a dark and quiet room, it will stopmoving and its middle LED will blink blue and purple. It willautomatically go to sleep after 5 minutes of being left in thedark (as long as its quiet). If you play music for I-DOG in thedark, it will happily continue playing LED animations and danceperiodically.

    5. I-DOG may react to other sounds or noises that it hears, otherthan music.
