www.ipasscode.com/registerHow ipasscode referrals work.

Professionals who provide behavioral health services

to patients, clients or students are eligible to use ipass-

code.com. Registration is free, and simply involves setting

up an ipasscode account. Once credentials are verified,

the professional receives a username and password and

can begin to refer to the web for assessments. Test results

are sent directly to the professional’s account when the test

form is submitted to the ipasscode server.

To make a referral, the professional chooses the

client and then selects the test(s) needed, how the pass-

code is to be delivered, and the payment arrangements for

the test. The passcode is created and given to the person

who will be completing the test. When the client enters the

passcode into the website, it recognizes the referral and

presents the intended information for completion. When

submitted the data are scored and an interpretive report is

created and sent to the professional’s account. An email

notifies the professional that the report has been received.

Measures on ipasscode.com

Assessments include both clinical and personality measures. Adult measures such as the Beck

Depression Inventory (BDI-II), the Beck Anxiety Inventory, Caterino Adult ADHD Scale and Parenting

Satisfaction Scales are on the system. The Dunn Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile is also now ready for

use. For children and adolescents, the Beck Youth Inventories and the Brown ADD Scales are available.

B-DI publications, such as The Carey Temperament Scales, the Adult Temperament Questionnaire of

Thomas and Chess, the BASICS Behavioral Adjustment Scale and TACTIC are also currently on the system.

Other measures, such as the remaining infant and child Sensory Profile measures and SASSI instruments

are being coded and will be made available in the coming months.

Referral Process

Professionals follow simple steps to make an ipasscode referral. After logging in to their account, the

referral page is selected and the professional designates: patient name, tests needed, method of payment

for the test and method of ipasscode delivery. The client receives the ipasscode and enters it into the

patient login site. The site recognizes the client, the professional, the test needed and how the test is to be

paid. The client takes the questionnaire online and submits it. The test is scored, interpreted and a report

is constructed. The referring professional is notified of the report and goes to their account to view and

print the report. Professional login can be accessed at: http://www.ipasscode.com/professional

Methods of payment

There are three ways to purchase ipasscode.com tests: 1)client pay, 2)professional pay and 3)con-

tract payment. With client payment, the website automatically directs the client to a credit card form where

the cost of the test can be applied to their Visa, Mastercharge, American Express or Discover card. Once

payment is processed, the test appears on the screen. The assessment costs the professional nothing. In

professional pay, the professional establishes their own balance on the system using a credit card. When

professional pay is selected for a test, the discounted amount is removed from the professional’s balance.

The client goes directly to the test and the professional is free to bill the client or the client’s insurance at

their regular rate. If an ipasscode is not used, the professional payment is returned to the professional’s

balance when it is deleted from the system. When contract payment is selected, the professional or con-

tracting agency prepurchases a group of tests and professionals assigned to the contract can issue ipass-

codes to their clients. The balance of tests is reduced by 1 each time a contract professional issues an

ipasscode. If the client doesn’t follow through, the test is returned to the balance when the ipasscode is

deleted from the list. Contract tests and prices can be accessed at http://www.ipasscode.com/contract

User’s Guide

Professionals who register have their license/certification verified by ipasscode administration and

when approved, receive a detailed User’s Guide for the ipasscode.com system. This includes physicians,

psychologists, social workers, behavioral health counselors and other individuals licensed for independent

practice. Students in these disciplines can use the website under the direct supervision of a licensed profes-

sional.

Individuals who are employed by licensed health care, social service agencies and school districts can also

be registered through contracts between the ipasscode administrator and the director of the agency.

The Carey Temperament ScalesAssess individuality in behavioral style from infancy to adolescence

Temperament questionnaires are excellent for use in the short-term treat-ment of behavioral issues or parenting problems. Ever wanted to know the details about your owntemperament? Or have a client, student, colleague or sig-nificant other test themselves?

The ATQ online has been updated to incorporateuser experience and feedback. Broader norms have beenestablished, based on over 3400 adults who had complet-ed the original ATQ.

The process now allows users to select the normsthat will be used for their temperament profile (e.g., col-lege age males, females in their 40s, etc.) or to use theoriginal, now called 'classic,' norms. Doing this will adjustthe user's profile interpretations to an appropriate ageand gender comparison group, resulting in a more mean-ingful interpretation. In addition profile category descrip-tions were extended from three to five levels for each ofthe nine scales, allowing for finer grained statementsabout temperament for each individual.

Finally, the ATQ web process now allows users topurchase addtional access codes for future ATQ web pro-files so that a significant other, a class of students orclients in a private practice can be referred for their owntemperament profiles. Just go to: http://www.b-di.com/ATQweb.html
