casual fine dining
AZUR restaurant & patio is a local, independent restaurant which was established in 2004. We wanted to bring a level of cuisine that most thought was only available in major markets. The most important qualities of our restaurant are innovative cuisine, professional wait staff and ambiance. From the beginning, AZUR has strived to be cutting-edge with our food and attentive service. We prepare an adventurous menu for those who desire a unique culinary experience. AZUR has two chefs (Jeremy Ashby, Executive Chef and Miguel Rivas, Chef) from different culinary schools which drive the creativity of the menu as well as the daily specials. Their creations have won awards as well as delighted our patrons. AZUR offers dishes composed of local meats, vegetables and produce whenever possible and is a member of Kentucky Proud. We realize that you want choices, and we offer an extensive variety including rabbit, veal, bison, elk, salmon, tuna and scallops. Often AZUR offers fresh fish flown directly from Hawaii as a daily special.
service
Our professional wait staff has been trained to exceed your expectations. They are prepared to answer your questions about our culinary and wine offerings at AZUR. Every server has been educated as to what wine compliments each dish. Their function is to enhance your enjoyment of a relaxing lunch or dinner. Timing is their specialty — your experience will flow smoothly at the pace you desire. One should never feel rushed.
ambianceAZUR was designed after European establishments providing the feel of being in a different place without leaving Lexington. Customers often comment that they don’t feel like they’re in a strip center in Lexington. The walls are bold blues and greens with curves throughout. The interior space flows outside through three sets of French doors onto the elegant stone bordered brick patio. Weather permitting, the patio is always open. Every Friday and Saturday evening, local musicians entertain our guests with a variety of music including blues, pop, Motown, jazz and classical. AZUR has also been known to present talent from outside the area when the opportunity presents itself. These performers are on the rise on a national level.
